Alexikokopops Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 ...for blessing himself in the match between Celtic and Rangers in Febuary. That's right, for doing the whole making a cross on yourself thing http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...tic/5287664.stm
lcfc_jme Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 Oh my God that is pathetic. A pretty large amount of footballers do that as they walk onto the pitch, it is hardly offensive to anybody is it?! Not meaning to cause offense but some views in some parts of the world are ludicrous. Reckon you'd get in trouble for saying " Oh my God " in Scotland?

In other news wtf has happened to my quoting, its all gone balls up.
The People's Hero Posted 25 August 2006 Posted 25 August 2006 It's stupid... but to be fair, he must be aware of the situation and was therefore a little stupid to do as he did.
Ultra Posted 26 August 2006 Posted 26 August 2006 But he's probably done it hundreds of times throughout his career. It's probably a regular thing in strongly Catholic Poland. Plod's time would have been better spent curbing the many bigots who infest the stands at Ibrox, who cannot bear the thought of a Catholic defiling their stadium.

Nah, that happens when you quote me because of the [ ] in my name. Unless it's started ballsing up with other people, I can't help you there.
lookwhaticando Posted 26 August 2006 Posted 26 August 2006 ' date='Aug 26 2006, 08:49 AM' post='383573']Nah, that happens when you quote me because of the [ ] in my name. Unless it's started ballsing up with other people, I can't help you there. Yeah, it's all Alex's fault And yes, that's a bloody stupid caution. But it's just one part of a large loony circus between Catholics and Protestants.
Mort Posted 26 August 2006 Posted 26 August 2006 Seems bloody stupid to me... players cross themselves all the time, if he was doing it to wind up the Rangers supporters he should have been spoken to but a criminal record, for god's sake i cross myself whenever i go to mass or even pass the sodding church, and that's from a Catholic who always trys to finds a way out of mass and the Poles are far more devoute as a rule than most Catholics... barmy is all i can say about this
Bert Posted 26 August 2006 Posted 26 August 2006 This is a very patrotic fixture though, could that be one of the reasons??
C-man Posted 27 August 2006 Posted 27 August 2006 In other Celtic news...Best. Name. Ever: He's certainly a big name signing for Celtic.
Durnerz Posted 27 August 2006 Posted 27 August 2006 Got to feel sorry for the parents who's kids want his name printed on the back of their shirts.
Deathside Posted 28 August 2006 Posted 28 August 2006 The whole sectarian thing in Scotland sucks big time I met a friend of a friend at Leeds Festy yesterday - He was from Edinboro and was a hearts fan He initially went to great lengths to point out that hearts are not a junior version of rangers and that the sectarian thing only really exists between celtic & rangers Then we tried to have a meaningful football discussion - Which proved to be a virtual impossible task: Some of his opinions were: Martin O'Neil is not a good manager - He only won anything with celtic because rangers were rubbish at the time (He struggled to come up with an excuse for his success at Leicester) Neil Lennon has never received any sectarian abuse - The abuse he got was because he is a thug and he claimed it was sectarian abuse to cover the fact that he is a thug Gordon Strachan is not and never has been funny in interviews - In fact he is just scum! The only thing we agreed on was that Joe Hamil was shÃÂt

Why couldn't he cross himself as he was leaving the tunnel?
Hullfox Posted 28 August 2006 Posted 28 August 2006 He wasn't cautioned for blessing himself, he was cautioned for "other" gestures to the Rangers fans.
