Hullfox Posted 24 July 2004 Posted 24 July 2004 Forgot about this Ferdinand had been signed by David O'Leary a few days earlier for a staggering £18m - a new world record for a defender. But as he strolled out at Filbert Street to make his debut against Leicester, all he could hear were chants of "What a waste of money!" - and that's before he had kicked a ball. Things went from bad to worse. After 29 minutes Leeds were 3-0 down and Rio was having a nightmare. They went on to lose the game 3-1 and it was later claimed the players had had one eye on a Champions League clash with Lazio the following week. How times have changed.

darko2k7 Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Jonathan Woodgate suffered a torrid Real Madrid debut, scoring a spectacular own goal and then being sent off against Athletic Bilbao. Then after that was injured tthe rest of the time 15 million well spent
StanSP Posted 5 March 2011 Posted 5 March 2011 Reyes had a crap Arsenal debut against Middlesbrough I think. Scored an own goal and generally just played crap.
