cisono Posted 28 August 2006 Posted 28 August 2006 I didn't work as such but wasted my day (and some money) travelling to Italy. Left for Stansted too early, hence I had to while away some time doing some tax-free shopping (once I had managed to get back my sandals and jacket off the security people). Then the plane was late arriving. Consequently, the plane was late boarding and even later taking off, as a tyre had to be replaced. Finally, we were late arriving. Get the trend? My mum shouts a lot when she talks (like most Italians) and I strangely have had a headache for a few hours now. Stez, wanna swap?
Guest Posted 28 August 2006 Posted 28 August 2006 I have the whole week off. Same here. We must be the Beautiful People.

I shouldn't really complain, I need all the money I can get. Can you imagine the uproar if bins weren't emptied for a week?! People get arsey enough about bins as it is!! And don't get me started on people who try and get away with two bins...
Rincewind Posted 28 August 2006 Posted 28 August 2006 I worked. Got double time though. 9 1/2 hours of sitting in the empty office of an empty coach bodyworks shop answering calls from mainly Scottish customers who did not have the holiday. 'Sorry sir theres no-one here' 'Wella y are' 'So I am but security people dont count'

In my town they thought up the great idea of emptying black bins (Normal waste) one week then the next week they'll empty green bins (Garden Waste) so you would be going 2 weeks without normal household waste being emptied, people fill there bins in 1 week and struggle to get everything in so god help people if we had to go every 2 weeks, anyway I think this plan went ahead but only lasted about 1 or 2 weeks because of the complaints.

Ah, well here they have 3 bins. Your black bin (Domestic Waste) gets emptied one week, and your Brown bin (green waste) gets emptied the next. The Recycling bin gets emptied every two weeks too, but depending on where you live in the district it gets done the same day as your black bin or the same day as your brown bin. It works out here though because half the rubbish people used to put in the black bin gets stuck in the recycling bin so you only need it emptying every two weeks instead of every week. I'm gonna stop there, I could talk about bins all day. I'm an exciting chap to have a drink with.
