Deadline Day Transfers

Andy Cole has just joined Portsmouth (how many strikers do they want?! :o ). It's like 'we never quite made anything of our international careers' XI down there these days with the likes of James, Campbell and Cole.

To be fair those nearly men have got them to second!

I have one question about deadline days.

Why do teams leave it this late? They have had the close season and all of the summer, it seems ridiculous to me. Because teams are in a rush, they may be forced to pay over the odds.

P.S - This isn't a complaint, I like the excitement!

It's Human nature to do things at the last minute. Teams get more desperate to sell teams get more desperate to buy!

And it works the other way too. There will be some clubs desperate to get rid of players, and some desperate to go. Thus you get someone like Reyes moving at the last minute because Arsenal don't want a player who doesn't want to play for them and will accept a lower bid than they would have done a few weeks ago.

From the telegraph this morning:

"Tottanham hope to seal the double signing of Steed Malbranque from Fulham and Pascal Chimbonda from Wigan in a last minute spending spreeworth £7.75 million."

Both players want out at their clubs so this may be a rumour that might come true for once.

It's almost certain that Malbranque won't be at Fulham come midnight

EUROPE: Argentina captain Juan Pablo Sorin (0944) has moved from Villarreal to Hamburg in a Euro 3m deal. Elsewhere, AC Milan have had a bid of Euro 25m for Robinho rejected by Real Madrid, according to Spanish media, who have also speculated on a swap deal between Ronaldo and Inter Milan's Adriano. And could more players leave Juventus, who are facing up to life in Serie B because of their involvement in the Italian match-fixing scandal?

I think Fuller would have been perfect for us and have sured up our striking options why couldn't we have gone afer him.:mad:

I understand wages would have been a problem but can't the club just show the slighest bit of ambition

Fuller is the defintion of over rated he is shite.

One good season nothing since.

........don't wish to sound rude but so what? :P. It's not a conflict of intrests if thats what your getting at.

Th conpiracy theory in the Guadian is that Abramovich's company owns the contracts of mssrs Tevez and Mascherano and that he made them join West Ham instead of a bigger club who could possibly challenge Chelski or the title.

Heard as rumour probobly nothing but as Man You have missed out on Mascerano and Hargreaves (more than likely) they might be after Nigel Reo-Coker

Steed Malbranque has finally left Fulham, moving across London to join Tottenham for an undisclosed fee.

Wayne Routledge has gone the other way on loan.

Good signing for spurs. Routledge should get a decent run with Fulham as he wasn't grtting a chance at spurs with Lennon and Tainio in front of him
