Deadline Day Transfers

Recommended Posts

Well Pompey just completed another signing at ten to nine tonight - so the deadline must be midnight.

The deadline is definately midnight!

Is it half day at The Walkers on a Thursday? :dunno:

That clause would be totally illegal though.

has that ever stopped Roman before?

some are of the opinion (and not me don't want no Russian Mafia after me!!! ) that some of his deals that made him a billionaire were shall we say done not exactly within the realms of the law!!!

it seems a very very odd deal to me and a SEROIUS amount of money would needed to have come from somewhere at least £30million if you ask me and I am not sure West Ham have that sort of finance!!!

Just been chatting to my Black Cats m8, and he's offered us a deal...

I'll sell you Andy Welsh for a packet of Square Crisps (Cheese N Onion flavour)

Coventry have signed Leon McKenzie from Norwich for £1 million

This is frustrating when we're not doing any business at all. :(

A loan deal wouldn't go amiss, Rob.

You can't blame Rob Kelly - the Birch mentioned on the phone in a few weeks ago that he'd already spent more than his budget for this season.

And since nobody has been sold/shipped out on loan, he can't go out and buy someone or loan somebody in.

If clubs aren't interested in our players (or we're unwilling to let them go as in Stearman's case) then there won't be funds to bring anyone in.

To be fair we have taken a fair amount off the wage bill in the last month so a loan deal wouldn't have been asking for too much!

That said if there's no one out there suitable then there's no point doing it for the sake of it.

Unfortunate that we haven't managed to ship anyone out - would have been nice to have got rid of Maybury or Sylla, perhaps even Nissa - to free up enough cash to sign somebody properly. I'd rather ship someone out and spend on a player we can keep, then just sign a loanee just for the sake of it.

Mistake

Who is responsible for this

I put that in the calendar based on this is the email I got from the football league in May 2006:

[/size]

With the exception of those clubs involved in Play-Off matches players can be transferred from midnight on the last day of the immediately preceding season and ending at 5pm on the 31st August. Then from midniught on the 31st December and ending at 5pm on the 31st January following.

Also, players cannot be transferred after 5.00pm on the fourth Thursday in March each playing season.

Thank you for contacting The Football League.

Tevez and Mascherano sign for English team

Not quite who you might have in mind though..

If true, the Tevez and Mascherano signings are massive for West Ham. I couldn't believe it when I saw.

Done and dusted apparently.

Believe it when I see it!!!!! :o

I am a believer!!!! :o

WHat massive signings for WH, well done Pardew and Manangement Team!!!!

Amazing coup and will be great for the Premiership to see these guys in action at a supposedly 'lesser' team.

Good grief, amazing signings.

Unbelievable signings! I'd love to know the inside track on how this came about.....

I thought West Ham played tasty football last year at times. Tevez and Sheringham - dream ticket!!!

I don't know but that just seems a little bit fishy to me.

1.Why would two of the worlds most sought after players sign for WHU (no offence but their not Chelsea/Barcelona/AC Milan etc)?

2.How much did WHU pay? It was either a massive amount considering they were both sold to Corinthians for something like $25m and $15m. That begs the question where do WHU have that money from? I seem to remember £7m on Ashton in January was demostrative of their ambition and was pushing the bank too. Or it was a very low price, which also makes you wonder why.

3.Why was there no mention of this deal happening until today?
