maccfox Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Has signed for Sunderland, home debut likely to be against us
syston_fox Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Are they just signing up anyone they can do today? Must be about the 5th person they've snapped up!
Thracian Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Has signed for Sunderland, home debut likely to be against us Sounds like one for knick-knack Paddy to whack!. Cleanly of course.
Tommeh Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Should get a decent reception from us. I knew he was only with us for 1 year and took his time to settle in but when he did around January time he was a very good player for us. Neither he nor the club could turn down a move to the prem / £3million.
Manwell Pablo Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Sounds like one for knick-knack Paddy to whack!. Cleanly of course. Not sure if he can handle a 10 million pound man.
maccfox Posted 31 August 2006 Author Posted 31 August 2006 I for one was sorry to see him go and wish we could have afforded to sign him back. Blew our season last yr too left us without a goalscorer until January
lcfc_jme Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Bleedin hell Sunderland and Wigan have been busy today haven't they?? Sunderland bringing in 6 men and Wigan offloading quite a few themselves. Still, Sunderland can't be finished yet, we still have Sylla and Maybury!!
nhfox Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Keano won't buy Sylla or Maybury because he's only buying ex-teammates!
syston_fox Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Just read that it was for £1.4m. Quite a loss for wigan then!
lcfc_jme Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Thought he'd at least take Maybury for being Irish, that seems to be the trend for him today
chili_con_carne Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Keano won't buy Sylla or Maybury because he's only buying ex-teammates! Since when has David Connolly been Keano's ex-teammate? If i was a Sunderland fan today, I would admit i would be a bit dissappointed with some of the signings he's made. Can't understand why Fergie let Liam Miller leave on a free, he deserves a nominal fee at least.
syston_fox Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Just read that it was for £1.4m. Quite a loss for wigan then! Actually according to their OS it will rise to £1.9m depending on promotion and appearances.
lcfc_jme Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Actually according to their OS it will rise to £1.9m depending on promotion and appearances. Still, not gona break-even with the fee rising or not are they?

newms Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 its a funny one really because when he came to leicester he turned down Sunderland. Connolly's wife (if he has 1) must love this time of year
Craig Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 its a funny one really because when he came to leicester he turned down Sunderland. Connolly's wife (if he has 1) must love this time of year He was standing next to me at the Reading festival on friday with a woman, she didn't look all that though.
newms Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 He was standing next to me at the Reading festival on friday with a woman, she didn't look all that though. he does have the looks of a 14 year old yet to hit puberty
Craig Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 he does have the looks of a 14 year old yet to hit puberty He seemed to enjoy Panic! at the Disco too...
Bluefoxtim Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Just read that it was for £1.4m. Quite a loss for wigan then! £2m on SSN
Thracian Posted 31 August 2006 Posted 31 August 2006 Not sure if he can handle a 10 million pound man. Like I said. Pitch a price high, you can always go down.
Bert Posted 1 September 2006 Posted 1 September 2006 Connolly does have a wife, unless he's divorced her. I know this because, he missed the Preston cup game when we lost 3-2 as he was away getting married.
lookwhaticando Posted 1 September 2006 Posted 1 September 2006 Connolly does have a wife, unless he's divorced her. I know this because, he missed the Preston cup game when we lost 3-2 as he was away getting married. That's outrageous. Surely we didn't allow him to piss off just to get married when we had a game on?
lookwhaticando Posted 1 September 2006 Posted 1 September 2006 Like I said. Pitch a price high, you can always go down. For some reason, prostitutes come to mind hearing that sentence.
Thracian Posted 1 September 2006 Posted 1 September 2006 For some reason, prostitutes come to mind hearing that sentence. Not a subject I can talk to you about with any authority!
