Who is going to get the boot first?

Who will be the first Premier League manager to get the chop?

For me I can see Roeder getting the bullet.

Way out of his depth from the off and could never understand why they made him a permanent fixture.

Would be great to hear your thoughts :)

Chris Coleman or Gareth Southgate!

I am not sure about Coleman I get the feeling Al Fayed really likes him becuase he should probably could have been given the boot a few seasons ago although seems to do pretty well imo on a small budget and with an average squad The money also seems to have dried up a bit in terms of investment

My nominations for first managers to be booted out or resign first are:

Steve Coppell-Has a history of bottling it when the going gets tough.

Jose Mourinho-Anymore interference from Kenyon and he'll be off.

Gareth Southgate-Out of his depth imo and it will soon become apparent.

1st to be sacked will most probably be Chris Coleman the rest will resign

I can see this happening if Chelsea don't win something major this year, although the chances are they will win something <_<

I don't understand why people expect Coleman to be sacked.

As long as they don't fall into the relegation zone (and I can't see that happening) Coleman will be safe. He has a good relationship with Al Fayed and he's done a very good job given the restrictions in place.

He's a likeable bloke and I think he's underrated as a manager.

For me, I'm going for Martin Jol. Big name, but he's not had the best of starts and he's got high expectations to meet after last season.

Gareth Southgate will be gone first.

He hasnt got the badges to coach at this level. And he is not completing them currently. The FA may enforce the rule that he has to step down...

I don't think that's likely to happen before another manager walks/is pushed.

Coleman is always tipped for the sack, only because Fulham seem weak. Fact is, he's kept them in the league for a while now, and he's not had them looking like true relegation candidates for any extended period.

As mentioned before, he 'should' have been sacked ages ago, in theory - but he hasn't. He's not heading for the exit with much speed.

Roeder's on a knife edge, big time. He's just not done enough to sure up the squad he inherited. In fact, if anything, it's weaker now than before (partly due to a lack of Owen, again).

Jol's not in any serious trouble. They're not going to top last year's work, but he's not going to get sacked unless they slip far far down the league.

Moaninho's not in any kinda danger yet. They will win something this year, but if it's only one trophy again, he might be in trouble for next year.

Benitez is safe. Sir Alex and Wenger are also safe. I think Warnock will remain. Bootroyd should be alright. Dunno about Coppel though... Dowie should be alright as long as he doesn't leave Charlton in the bottom three by Christmas.

I think Roeder is in big trouble - he's not done enough in the transfer market.

If not Roeder, then it might be somebody walking off the job.

I think Blackburn are in with a real chance of going down this year. I don't know if that means Mark Hughes is likely to be sacked soon, but I think he's up there. I can see Warnock being sacked, but probably only if they fail spectacularly (like McCarthy at Sunderland) or once they go down. I'd say Coleman and Roeader are likely candidates too, apart from that (in fact even perhaps including those names) there doesn't seems to me to be anyone who is in an obviously unstable position.

EVerytime I see the title of this thread I think of fisting.

I imagine that's painful.

I'm sure some people on here have had first hand experience of that. See what I did there? ;)

Southgate for me.

I see your point but I do believe they will fall into the relegation zone. After only a couple of games it is evident that they will be reliant on Jimmy Bullard who unfortunately for them is not going to be able to carry the team through a long 38-game season. Plus the Malbranque situation, which is now resolved, will have left fans a little disillusioned with the direction of the club. It looks like they are downsizing if you ask me.

Glenn Roeder won't last long at Newcastle,I can't see how a man who has taken 3 clubs down has gained a fanatastic job at Newcastle.A suprise contender could be Psycho at Man City, they had a terrible run at the end of the season and he will be under fire if they go on a losing strak but I can see City doing well this season.I can't see Southgate or Dowie getting the boot this season because they have very patient boards, remeber previous manager of Charlton Alan Curbishley lasted 15 years and for Middlesborough it's only their 3rd manager in 12 years under the chairmanship of Steve Gibson.

I have to hand it to you, it made me chuckle.

I think i deserve a big hand for that. Not literally however, because that would be wrong. Just the applause is good.

Good point about the chairmans of Charlton and Boro not being known to chop n Chance the gaffers.

I can only say which ones it defenatly won't be:

Harry-pompey

Wenger- Arsenal

Benitez- Liverpool

Mourinho - Chelsea

Boothroyd - Watford

Fergie - Man you

Moyes-Everton

MON-Villa

as for the championship it'll be Magilton unless Ipswich pick up
