Guest spineless Posted 10 September 2006 Posted 10 September 2006 I very much agree with the post-many of our members are under 18 you just have to read the posts to guess this and ok it may have been a bad call from DB, I don't know I didn't see it myself. I am totally against posting on here anonimously though, especially when it is to complain about a member or something that has been posted. If somebody is not happy about something why start a thread on it? Why don't they PM Mark or another member of Admin with they're complaint and ask for some action to be taken! I think crazyhorse is a little upset with DB because of their "handbags" in another thread and this is chance of a little oneupmanship not that I'm saying it's not justified I just think it could have been handled with a bit more aplomb! I think you must have missed the point of the thread ( apologies to CH if i am wrong) The topic was not started because a grossly offensive image was posted on the forum ; (the generally excellent moderators would have , and indeed did swiftly remove it ) . My take on why the thread was started is, "that the offending image was posted by a moderator"; one of the very people who are supposed to remove this sort of thing, and called into question his judgement of what is or is not offensive. I'm pretty sure that if the image had been posted by a member more noted for this sort of filth then there would have been no point and i'm sure it would have been removed quickly enough. i choose to remain anonymous because it has been my suspicion that a moderator is not particularly concerned with removing offensive material ( i think this has been proven) but rather to use the position in a brow beating way, and i don't think i am alone in this belief that posts are removed more to do with disagreement rather than offence if you think this is "spineless" that is ok by me , (i maybe am a little), but it is more to with the fact that in the future i don't want posts deleted merely because of my name rather than breaking any rules of the forum. If a moderator posts an offensive image , then i'm sure you will agree there are members on the forum who will see it as a "green light" and will try to "outdo" them in bad taste . and the forum will just degenerate into a porno site. Finally i want to give my support to the other admin/moderators who do an excellent job and am sure would not wish to be tarred with the same brush.
