escape2victory Posted 15 September 2006 Share Posted 15 September 2006 Am I right in thinking that at the end of last season he only signed a 12 month rolling contract ? If this is the case and we have another mediocar season and finish in the bottom half, do you think his contract would / should get renewed ? And where do you think is an acceptable place for us to finish which warants a contract extension for Kelly ?

Royston. Posted 15 September 2006 Share Posted 15 September 2006 Anywhere in the top half and he'll almost certainly keep his job. If we slip into the bottom 3 and manage to escape late on in the season and finish 15th the foolish board may still renew his contract.
Strokes Posted 15 September 2006 Share Posted 15 September 2006 I'd be suprised if he makes it to the end of October TBH, we are gonna struggle to get out of this decline without at least one creative player in the squad.
escape2victory Posted 15 September 2006 Author Share Posted 15 September 2006 An improvement on last year... if its not by much he should only get another 12 months. Does this not breed instability tho ? If they keep on extending it by only a year, the board are sending a subconsious message to Kelly that they are not 100% sure he is the long term solution, so will only offer him a 12 month rolling contract each year just incase it goes tits up, so compensation is minimal. Jimmy Posted 15 September 2006 Share Posted 15 September 2006 its a 1 year rolling contract meaning he always has 1 year on it so they dont need to renew it

Royston. Posted 15 September 2006 Share Posted 15 September 2006 I dont think the bloke is comfortable as a manager anyway, he prefers coaching.
