MC Prussian Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 I'm starting to see the funny side of this! If we're going to become a laughing stock, we may as well do it properly, on the cheap! Excellent thought, opposing teams won't be able to hold their laughs back and cringe for 90 minutes or even more. Hitting the opposing goal with everybody else down shouldn't be that hard then, either. Btw, Farrelly is "only" 31. During his 172 games with Villa, Rotherham (!), Everton, Bolton, Burnley, Bradford and Wigan, he managed to score 8 times. I guess he's used for defensive stability then. As if we hadn't enough problems up front, now we got one in midfield.

But after looking at his record at Bohemians I had a feeling the results would make rotten reading so I didn't bother. Now the truth is out it's actually worse than I ever imagined...

mat_j101 Posted 5 October 2006 Posted 5 October 2006 Former Republic of Ireland midfielder Gareth Farrelly has joined Leicester to train with the Championship outfit. The 31-year-old former Bolton and Wigan man joins Carl Asaba at the Foxes, who are keen to run the rule over the pair during the international break. Assistant manager Mike Stowell told the club website: "We have no game for 11 days so we will look at them both." Meanwhile, chief scout John Marshall has left the club for a "non-football related opportunity elsewhere". Farrelly returns to England after his recent sacking from the player-manager's position at Eircom League club Bohemians
