Surreal Madrid Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 That's what I said, the intent is there though, the message is being sent out that these players, which no one else wants, not even lower league clubs are potentially good enough for LCFC. Trialists are people out of contract, clubs trial players all the time. Asaba, for example may not want a move to lower leagues and is therefore biding his time to see if any Championship clubs might be interested. I really can't see why people are getting their knickers in a twist over this - they are on trial, end of. If they impress they might be offered some sort of short term contract. If they don't - goodbye.

I've heard such claptrap about needing experience before but sadly we are unable to afford the quality of older players needed to give worthwhile experience and the only ones we can afford are nowhere near as good as the alternative young players we already have available. Instead in the main they are effectively holding the team back by ruining its potential fluidity. People forget our young players have often been at the club for years or at least involved in one professional club or another for a long time. There are not grenhorns by any means. I think Andy King, for instance, has been at Leicester and Chelsea for something like seven seasons. I agree. Experience counts for nothing if they aren't good enough to play football at the level we require. Managers and coaches provide the experience off the pitch as they played once upon a time, so players like Johnson, Asaba, Farrelly, etc should **** off elsewhere.

evan Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Farrelly was monkey guff even when he was 25 at Everton (and most Everton fans will tell you him and Danny Williamson were 2 of the worst players to ever play for them) and Asaba cant be better than hammond, O'Grady etc... We have no midfield, thats our biggest weakness so we should try to get someone on loan who can either get stuck in (e.g. mauchlen) or create some spark in the final third
