Ummmmmmmmmmmmm. Not sure.

He certainly doesn't have it spot on with our midfield, our left back, our right wing, our passing, our moving, our support play, too many of our free kicks, our goalscoring or our tactics ...

Nor has he been spot on with his signings from what I've seen so far.

Maybe those things combined explain why I still feel sceptical and have no great confidence in his going out and getting a centre-forward who is better than what we've got, better than Dodds and who will somehow, magically succeed where several strikers have already struggled this season.

But we'll see though where a potentially exciting striker is going to come from for sod all I don't know.

If he finds one he'll deserve praise indeed.

Do you think he'll end up a nearly guy because of it JBF?

I think he'll struggle to break into our senior side at present because of his attitude. It is similar to the Ryan Smith situation of last season. He was obviously a talented lad but, possibly, his attitude and way he played the game resulted in him being sent back to Arsenal early. Gradel can be very wasteful with possession in the final third and at the moment we can't afford to waste the ball when we get it there. You may say that with Gradel playing, we will get the ball in the final third much more often so he can afford to waste the odd chance to distribute the ball or shoot at goal. He is an exciting player but also a frustrating player and, although I hate to say it, not the kind of player who will roll his sleeves up when things aren't going well and you are fighting to stay in this division.

It's a pity cos he's got talent aplenty but I can't argue with any of that and it doesn't seem that he's made progress attitude wise. So we're still looking for someone on the right.

Seems like Elvis is still our best alternative in a 3-5-2/ 3-4-3 type arrangement. So come on kid, make em eat their words. I've still got faith in you." Fluid systems of play don't bother me.

I said he's got it spot on with how he's using our academy players so far. I didn't mention anything about his tactics or style of play, etc. But as far as him blooding our academy players, he's done well. Logan, Porter, Wesolowski and O'Grady have all been given a chance by him and they've not let the team down. So fair play to Kelly for giving them the chance. It proves that if they do well for the reserves and academy of a sustained period of time (not just a few weeks or months) then they'll get a chance and that's fine by me.

when is the next game down at belvior drive?

Watford on the 14th (next Saturday), 11 am.

Intersting stats

Only Cisak, Goodwin, and Tuttle are yet to make any kind of appearance. Well, Goodwin has had to stop playing (due to injury?), I've been told that Tuttle is quite injury prone so this may have kept him out this season so far too but what has happened to Cisak? I thought it may have just been due to international duty but he hasn't started a game for us so far this season. Is he injured or has he left the club?

Hope Tuttle starts getting games, only because i used to go school with him though. :P If Cisak had left the club then i'd imagine he wouldn't be on the list.

For all his temperament I wish the first team had a moody winger like Gradel that gets 9 goals in eight appearances - maintaining the sort of statistics he achieved last season!.

I'd be willing to bet Low doesn't get nine first team goals as long as he stays at Leicester.

I think Goodwin has left us now but he's still on the list, that's what makes me think perhaps Cisak is no longer with us either?!

Cambridge move to snap up Norval

Cambridge United boss Jimmy Quinn has signed former Leicester City youngster Liam Norval. The 19-year-old defender, who was released by the Foxes at the end of last season, has joined the U¿s on non-contract terms.

Norval, who captained Wales at under-16 level, started his career at West Ham where he trained under Cambridge's assistant-boss Steve Castle.

He could make his U's debut against Crawley on Saturday.

Good luck to the lad. I hope it works out for him. He never looked good enough for us when I watched him even at Reserves/Academy level.

Very vocal but not good enough for us as you can tell by the fact that he's playing for Cambridge on a non-contract basis. Sounds like he's having to offer his services for free to a Conference side.
