McCarthy, Kenton and Johnson seem to be most under threat.

Logan;

Stearman, McAuley, Kisnorbo, Nils;

King, Williams, Porter;

Hammond O'Grady, Hume.

Subs: Henderson, Kenton/Mattock, Wesolowski/Hughes, Gradel, Tiatto.

King, Gradel, Mattock won't be in the 16 until the end of this season at the earliest. My team anyway:

Logan

Stearman

McAuley

Kisnorbo/McCarthy (depending on the fitness of McCarthy)

Nils

Porter

Williams

Weso

Tiatto

Hume

Hammond

Like the back five.

I'd probably agree with your forward six, but it's a tad fanciful. ;)

I'd expect...

Low, Williams, Hughes, Tiatto

Hammond, Hume

Perhaps Weso will play instead of Hughes, perhaps Porter will play ahead of Tiatto (bet that 90 minutes is taking its toll on the lad).

I'd prefer

Low, Williams, Weso, Porter

Hammond, Hume

But it depends on Weso's fitness and Tiatto's fitness. :yesyes:

Does anyone know what's happened to weso? Wasn't in the 16 for last 2 games.

There's been no injury news on him, and in his interview the other day he said nothing.

I'm assuming they're playing it safe with him for now.

Plus it said he was glad to swap the treatment room for the training pitch or something along those lines. Doubt they wuld have said that if he was injured

Well that went tits up.

Lwicd - you basically said exactly what i put before.

I'm sure he came on the pitch to greet Stearman and Hume after Hume jumped on Stearman yesterday.

Maybe he was jealous, after all we do know about their love triangle.

Despite the win Saturday, it's been pretty obvious for weeks now that a change of approach is needed for us to gain a win away from home, or even score. Five games, two points and two goals is diabolical. We have to go looking for a win especially as Leeds are bound to be nervous, it's upto us to go there and take advantage of it.

Logan

Kenton, McAuley, Kisnorbo, Johansson

Gradel, Williams, Wesolowski, Tiatto

Hume Hammond

Subs: Henderson, Stearman, Porter, Low, O'Grady/Odihambo/Chambers

In an ideal world I'd play both Stearman and Gradel on the right, but as Stearmans been out of form and Gradel isn't a player known for his defensive duties, Kenton (if available) will be the best option to allow Gradel to get forward at every opportunity.

Shame it'll be Low or Hughes making those surging runs forward.

The bits in bold are spot on, but unfortuantely Gradel won't be playing on tuesday.

Where is the ball winner. They are all attack minded. Out of those 3 who is the 1 who will pick up Jon Douglas or Ian Westlake when they make attacking runs forward ? You need Wesolowski or Johnson in that team. Also what has O'Grady done 2 get in your starting line up ? apart from being an acadamy graduate. If you go to Elland Road with that formation, regardless of the ability of Leeds, then we will get turned over. Surely it would be best for King / Gradel / Mattock to get a taste of first team football at the Walkers in a cup competition or nearer the end of the season if we dont have anything to play for, 2 feel them in, give them a taste of the atmosphere and match preparation, rather than throw them in at probably the most hostile ground in the Championship.

:o We're like twins.

I was crafting my reply without having seen yours beforehand - as you'll note from the fact mine was posted 2 minutes later. ;)

Great minds, and all that...

Okay, serious question. What's with Tiatto?

People keep picking him and I'd just like to know the reasons.

Porter has played well for City generally but was criticised for his performance against Colchester because he failed to beat his man and get his crosses in which, lacking support, was his only alternative.

But how many times did Tiatto beat anyone on Saturday? Or even try?. How many crosses, how many telling passes, how many shots?

He's had one arguably decent game this season and last season was a disaster. Where's the compelling reason for his selection?

I'm not being sarcastic. I'd like someone to explain what I've clearly never been able to see.

Fanciful?. You're right. Or progressive? I can at least try to promote the idea of an interlinking team that's full of skilled passers.

And try to rid us of people who are either injured or who offer nothing as attackers. McCarthy's surely going to be missing but Johnson, Kenton, Tiatto are also questionable fitness wise.

Okay, serious question. What's with Tiatto?

I want to see the team we had on Saturday, or as close to it as fitness will allow.

Tiatto? I think he has done a very good job for us this season doing what he does best...intimidating the oppo, fighting for the ball and closing them down.

He has the ability to send in some very good crosses and he doesn't get bundled off the ball.

Saturday saw the team play more like he does and the result was obvious. We do not possess the talent to play as you suggest, in my opinion, as the players are all too small, too lightweight for this division. They are all too easily dislodged...to succeed you need to fight your way out and balance that with a few talented flair players. Tiatto is one such fighter, he is committed, full-bloodied and intimidating.

What I don't understand is why everyone has it in for him? I understand that his temper and rash challenges can be a liability, but Porter is no replacement yet. He will be a better player than Tiatto, but that is in the future. Presently, I think, you go with your best eleven - and we saw them on Saturday. The others need to gain experience, some pounds and wait their turn. This is not their time.

If Weso or Johnson were showing any evidence of being ball winners this season I'd sympathise with what you say. But they've not.

O'Grady is there to enable both Hume and Hammond (separately) to help in midfield doing exactly the ball winning and supporting that you're concerned about.

Regarding debuts if they're good enough, they're good enough to play against anyone and sometimes I feel it's easier to make a debut away than at home where too many are keen to jump on their backs whenever they make a mistake.

They've all had so much match preparation (seven/eight seasons for King) I'd imagine they are sick of preparation. They've all trained with the first team. Mattock wouldn't be eligible, sadly, but King and Gradel would have as much chance of doing well at Leeds as against Palace down here.

And more chance than Hughes/Johnson/Low in my view because, for all their vast experience, they've non of em had more than the odd acceptabl;e game all season.

I think it's fairly evident Hume needs to play up front when Fryatt is unavailable. Hume and Hammond works quite well, let's not resort to Oaf'Grady again already. Hume and Hammond up front, let's do them for pace.
