lcfc_jme Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 I want to see the team we had on Saturday, or as close to it as fitness will allow. It'd have to be the same for me really. We rarely win at all atm, so when we do, the winning formula must be kept and allowed to go on and win again. I reckon the only change will be probably Kisnorbo in for Paddy Mac, but other than that I can see us going as we were Saturday.
Ultra Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 I want to see the team we had on Saturday, or as close to it as fitness will allow. Tiatto? I think he has done a very good job for us this season doing what he does best...intimidating the oppo, fighting for the ball and closing them down. He has the ability to send in some very good crosses and he doesn't get bundled off the ball. Saturday saw the team play more like he does and the result was obvious. We do not possess the talent to play as you suggest, in my opinion, as the players are all too small, too lightweight for this division. They are all too easily dislodged...to succeed you need to fight your way out and balance that with a few talented flair players. Tiatto is one such fighter, he is committed, full-bloodied and intimidating. What I don't understand is why everyone has it in for him? I understand that his temper and rash challenges can be a liability, but Porter is no replacement yet. He will be a better player than Tiatto, but that is in the future. Presently, I think, you go with your best eleven - and we saw them on Saturday. The others need to gain experience, some pounds and wait their turn. This is not their time. Spot on!

Thracian Posted 16 October 2006 Author Posted 16 October 2006 Hope he does play that side. I wouldn't be totally unhappy with it either. Disco Bob has explained Tiatto's merits and I thank him for that and it is as I suspected. Some fans much prefer the get stuck in approach to anything creative. I was just nieve thinking a left winger was supposed to be creative and skillful. If Tiatto does deliver wonderful crosses I'm pleased and, apart from the odd free kick, I apologise for having missed em so far. What I have seen is that he serves as another defender and one who as Disco Bob says, puts the fear of God into folk. Especially me when he launches into another ridiculously badly timed challenge on the edge of the box or attempts a needless back pass from 10 yards off his own goalline.

Jimmy Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Logan Stearman McAuley McCarthy/Kisnorbo Kenton Low Williams Wesolowski Welsh Hammond Hume subs Hendo, Kisnorbo/Nils, Hughes, Porter, O' Grady
davieG Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 If the injuries to McCarthy and Kenton prove true, I think RK will pick a more defensive line up in: Logan Stearman McAuley Kisnorbo Nissa Hughes Williams Johnson Tiatto Hammond Hume Subs: Hendo, Welsh, Low, COG, Maybury If Weso's fit he would replace Low.
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 If Weso or Johnson were showing any evidence of being ball winners this season I'd sympathise with what you say. But they've not. O'Grady is there to enable both Hume and Hammond (separately) to help in midfield doing exactly the ball winning and supporting that you're concerned about. Regarding debuts if they're good enough, they're good enough to play against anyone and sometimes I feel it's easier to make a debut away than at home where too many are keen to jump on their backs whenever they make a mistake. They've all had so much match preparation (seven/eight seasons for King) I'd imagine they are sick of preparation. They've all trained with the first team. Mattock wouldn't be eligible, sadly, but King and Gradel would have as much chance of doing well at Leeds as against Palace down here. And more chance than Hughes/Johnson/Low in my view because, for all their vast experience, they've non of em had more than the odd acceptabl;e game all season. Are you on some sort of Tripe typing mission?? This is the first year Josh Low has played outside the bottom two divisions & Stepehen Hughes is 23. The only one with "Vast experince" there is Johnson, and its quite clear he is past it or off the boil!
Cobbo Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 --------------------Logan Stearman--McAuley--Kisnorbo--Johansson Low-----Williams----Johnson----Welsh -------------Hume----Hammond I think that's what we'll play to be honest.

Sorry I shouldn't have asked that.

Cobbo Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 That looks okay if they're all fit. You'd a gree with a left footed right winger?
Thracian Posted 16 October 2006 Author Posted 16 October 2006 You'd a gree with a left footed right winger? Both wingers can play on either flank. Porter's played right wing lots of times. In some ways I think it might add something for the wingers to cross over occasionally.

In some ways I think it might add something for the wingers to cross over occasionally. But sure'y weaken us down the right? Porter may have played there for the reserves and youth teams - he's played in the centre for both, but he'd be exposed stepping up a level out of position. Neither have come across to me as having a reasonable right foot. Really think it would make us a bit one dimensional with our wing play.

I've every faith in Porter at right wing, left wing or in midfield. But I doubt either he, Welsh, Hammond or Gradel would weaken us down the right. We are already weaker than a bridge of butter on a sunny day in that department.
