Finnegan Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 What tactics does everyone use ? because im in my third season with Sunderland and im still trying to get out the Championship Got some great players in my team like Koumas, Sharp, Gabbidon, Whitehead and Wallace. I always have nearly the best home record in the league, but my away form lets me down. Tried loads of different things like playing on the counter attack, slowing down the tempo etc but still doesnt seem to improve my away record. Is there a decent tactic which works equally well at home as it does away ? there's no way you should be losing with that squad. Dig up the old Finnegan tactics.
JoeyB Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 4-4-2 quick attacking football, counter attack use koumas on the wings and get an ace cm and use as a playmaker
Flexx Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Just got Oxford United promoted to the Championship, BRING IT ON. I just use 4-4-2 normal
Tevez Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 I don't know how people can get conference teams promoted and win champions leagues or what ever. I was Bognor Regis and i kept on getting battered.
Brainy Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 I don't know how people can get conference teams promoted and win champions leagues or what ever. I was Bognor Regis and i kept on getting battered. Agreed. Cheating often springs to mind.
filbertway Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Agreed.Cheating often springs to mind. It's not that hard really. You have to keep continually checking the transfer market for players who are available on a transfer. Any that are in a league teams reserves you can sign for free and after a season or 2 you get promoted. Then do the same in the conference, loaning prem reserve players helps. League 2, scout UK get good young scots and irish players. They get you into the championship, scout scandinavia and other countries. Then in the prem you should start building enough to money to buy top quality players, the only problem is, it takes ages to build a decent ground, so I give up afetr 2 or 3 seasons in the prem.
Gené and Tonic Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 I can't wait for the next installment..hopefully it's better. I've never been able to get a good game going with this version like I did with 05 and 06
NorthernFox Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Ive just got Accrington Stanley promoted to League 1 albeit thru playoffs (2nd season). 4-4-2 possession Chuffed to bits

Alexikokopops Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Pwns my record of 6 - 5. Two questions:Why gravesend / Who the fook calls their son Stacy? And here are some answers good sir: i) I'm managing Weston-Super-Mare because my housemate's from there and used to play for them. I'm attempting to get them up the league ladder, keen. That picture's from the other play-off semi-final (I lost mine to Crawley Town ) ii) Mr and Mrs Long. Anyway, my tactics for getting promoted seem to be abusing my parent club Bristol City and getting half their youngsters on loan. I'm not sure how sustainable this is...
Alexikokopops Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 Not sure if I mentioned it, but I got Steve McClaren in as my assistant manager at Weston-Super-Mare in the Conference South, ideal. £50 a week part-time deal.
