Katy Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Pay as you go fuel doesn't really work; if you live out in the sticks and have to drive your precious little ones to school every day, even in an economical car, you might end up paying more tax than the lazy arsed cows who drive their Chelsea tractors the 200yds to school. I don't see why having a kid means you have to have the largest vehicle available to you. My parents coped with one Vauxhall Viva (two door) and three kids between aged 1 and 8 without any problems. Which leads me onto parent and child parking spaces...... Behave, they rock I have to drive my precious little one to play group as I live in the sticks a) and b) I don't fancy us getting mashed up trying to cross the A1
Guest Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 But did you have to fit 3 child seats in the back until you were over 12 years old? No, dad bought a Cavalier when I was about 9. I can remember the registration number of both cars.
drew Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 My diesel X3 is as economical as my girlfriends 306 1.6 petrol.... I dont disagree with taxing gas guzzlers, but not all 4x4's are guzzlers. Before we start having more stealth taxes how about the world tackles India, China and the over their emmisions. China is building a power station a week to cope with their economic progress. A tax on Chinese imports would be better.
Swedging Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Does a Ford Capri class as a gas guzzler? If so I'm in trouble Cool. I used to have a old V6 3 litre Crapi.
Head Honcho Posted 3 November 2006 Author Posted 3 November 2006 Isnt this more to do with Governments and "subsidies"... I am considering going VEggie anyway..... hey, surely we aint gonna run out of stuff growing? I've been veggie for 10 months now and to be honest it's a killer all I do is eat fish! No wonder we're going to run out of it by 2056. I am however nearly a stone lighter and I'm having Turkey on Christmas Day

lookwhaticando Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 But did you have to fit 3 child seats in the back until you were over 12 years old? That said, we carried 3 in the back of an old A45 Van, Viva, Renault 12, Hillman Avenger Estate, Vauxhall Belmont and a Metro, thankfully we never had any serious collisions. I don't know why, but I think those things are cool.
Janx Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006  I don't know why, but I think those things are cool. my dad had one for about 13 years, it was black with two yellow pinstripes. A belting little motor!
davieG Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006  I don't know why, but I think those things are cool. Very cool, especially the air conditioning brought in through the rusting body panels, the cars I've patched up with newspaper and plastic padding
