Manwell Pablo Posted 21 November 2006 Posted 21 November 2006 I know it a little bit early for all this but seeing as and I'm bored out my skull and the Ashes doesn't even finish for another six weeks, nothings going to change what a miserable year it's been for British...and in particular English sport. It's been truly truly dreadful even by our own poor standards. Our world championship Rugby team is in tatters and we are stuck with a manager who is completely clueless going in World cup year, and the bloddy French won the six nations. Our Rugby League team is worse, one win against the Aussies which we didn't even get us to the Tri nations final is all we have to show this year. Another year, yet again no Brit in a final of a tennis grand slam, no player in the top XVI. Jensons improved in Formula one and won his first race but has shown he still has a long way to go before his challenging for a world title. Even soding snooker we're losing our grip! The World Championship was won by a Scot and the Uk Championship was won by a bloody Aussie! Since when have they played snooker? This is all without mentioning the World Cup which was a massive disappointment for England and for the most part in general, which followed Arsenal losing the Champions league final. Thing don't look exactly rosy for the future either with McClown in charge. And what’s next? A test series against Australia, in Australia to end a miserable year. Great. I really can't think of anything we've done of note in the world of sport this year..... Leicestershire wining the 20/20 is the solitary highlight of this year.

lookwhaticando Posted 21 November 2006 Posted 21 November 2006 The Assuies began playing Snooker when they realized they were in with a chance of beating us at yet another sport.
hairy Posted 21 November 2006 Posted 21 November 2006 We dont even win darts anymore. With all this in mind who do you think will win Sports Personality of the Year? The bloke from Little Britain was favourite as I remember for swimming the channel which says it all.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 November 2006 Posted 21 November 2006 I did a thread on this a few months ago and nothing's brightened the year since. So yeah, I agree. Mine was more about how crap the summer was in particular and how the Sports Personality of the Year award hopefuls made for sorry reading.
Finnegan Posted 21 November 2006 Posted 21 November 2006 S'not all crying shames. Joey boy showed that dirty yank Lacey a thing or two.
Finnegan Posted 21 November 2006 Posted 21 November 2006 Ryder Cup anybody Aye, another Welsh triumph.
Leicester Lass Posted 21 November 2006 Posted 21 November 2006 Aye, another Welsh triumph. Hardly! Woosnam was the Welsh one there. (I think )
Milky Posted 21 November 2006 Posted 21 November 2006 hopefully it will wake the politicians up to start taking sport more seriously in schools. All this shit about having no sports day because some kids will loose and it may hurt their feelings, ah boo hoo <_< if we're not careful we'll end up with a nation of wimpy losers

Finnegan Posted 21 November 2006 Posted 21 November 2006 Woosie's a taff, aye. And he Captained the side. I'm only joking, I know it wasn't really a Welsh victory. Just a chance for a gaff innit?

That's just to make it look as if they give a sh/t about the dross they served up, despite being labelled a 'golden generation' Useless planks, most of them.
