Collymore Posted 31 December 2004 Posted 31 December 2004 i thought trev was on big wages , northampton wont be paying 100% of them 50565 True, they will probably pay a portion of his wages, probably 1/2 or a little under...this will cut in half what we are paying him and allow us to bring a new face into the squad...Hopefully. Paying half of big trevs wages is still better than paying the whole thing! 50570 I think he is on £17,000 a week here isn't he? No chance that they could pay near half I would have thought. But it may free up a grand or two. 50571 Wonder if we can get anyone in for QPR. Can't believe we could even be paying trev £700 let alone £17,000. Some decent prem strikers don't earn that much!

He gave a 32 year old a 4 year deal at £30,000 for goodness sake!
Little Nicky Posted 31 December 2004 Posted 31 December 2004 Lets all have a sing song, lets all have a sing song la la la la la, la la la la la Bloody brilliant new, can't believe Blake has gone for a month, it is a blessing, I thought someone might come in for Benji, but not this soon, whey hey! Sneaky bid for John Oster on the cards perhaps? Wouldn't mind a loan deal for dougie freedman if we're coming to that, praps Slowcroft could got the other way
Mark Posted 31 December 2004 Posted 31 December 2004 What a great way to end a horrible year for LCFC
davieG Posted 31 December 2004 Posted 31 December 2004 Benjamin Leicester City Leg end an Unforgetable (all for the wrong reasons) Heart was in the right place shame his boots were on the wrong feet. :w00t: Bye Bye Benji you gave us some goods laughs unfortunately we were looking for thrills
Hullfox Posted 31 December 2004 Posted 31 December 2004 At least we won't get the stupid chanting of his name anymore. Well done Craig Levein, what a master stroke. Mind you, it's not the first time that Trevor Benjamin and Cobblers have appeared in the same sentence.
MON Posted 31 December 2004 Posted 31 December 2004 I feel sad seeing Benji go, another player that our fans could identify with has gone. He hasnt got a bad scoring record this season, better then Connolys. Good lucky Benji in the rest of your career. Lets get Ritchie Partridge in now!

This is fantastic news, I didn't believe it at first. Let's hope Deane is out for longer and they decide to keep on Blake. John Oster would be a good signing IMO - Can play both flanks if needed, but primarily a right winger. Just what we need.

emmalcfc Posted 31 December 2004 Posted 31 December 2004 I told my Dads mate, who supports Leicester and Northampton that Benji had gone to the Cobblers. At first he didn't believe me, and then when he did, he was like, well I'm in a bit of a mood now, thanks for ruining my New Years Eve. He said, Yes he puts in the effort, but he's just crap! Bet he won't be saying that when he's banging the goals in
SilverFox Posted 31 December 2004 Author Posted 31 December 2004 Rising to 35k a week after 3 years I believe due to a loyalty clause or something. 50600 Ouch, I didn't know that it had a loyalty bonus attached to it. He must be on more than most premiership players. Lucky fecker! Just wish he would do the honourable thing. He knows we don't have money, he knows that we desperately need new players, and he knows our position in the table. I don't blame him for collecting his wages, I just wish he would do something for the club that has looked after him for so long. Thanks Matty

Thanks Matty 50602 I don't blame him for just taking his wages - but the club should never have given him such a ludicrous contract at the age of 30 without any coniditions attached. I don't think I'd feel any obligation to give half of my wages back to my employer if my employer was struggling both financially and in their market conditions - that's their problem, not mine. I bet Elliott feels the same, and I can understand where he's coming from.
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 31 December 2004 Posted 31 December 2004 Rising to 35k a week after 3 years I believe due to a loyalty clause or something. 50600 theres no loyalty, he's still here cos no-one wants him, as for the other two blake is possibly the worst player i've ever seen and benjamin was rubbish but he always gave 100% and i cant knock him for that
Jonbluefox9 Posted 31 December 2004 Posted 31 December 2004 Apparently, The Birch held a question and answer session in Rothley with Taggs, Muzzy and Matty a couple of months ago and a bloke asked them all what their best moment at City was/has been. I think Taggs' was scoring in Europe, Muzzy's was one of the Wembley finals and Matty said 'When that idiot Taylor handed me a new contract.' Says it all really.
