Steven Posted 2 January 2005 Posted 2 January 2005 http://www.people.co.uk/sport/tm_objectid=...-name_page.htmlwe can only hope 51025 ... and was Benji really paid off, because if he was then did we save much money, enough to get someone else in. <_<
Mark Posted 2 January 2005 Posted 2 January 2005 Another Scowcroft rumour then. Nothing ever comes of them, i can only hope though. You've got to take £500,000 for him, they obviously haven't watched him recently
Guest Daniel Posted 2 January 2005 Posted 2 January 2005 I think we should take the money, he's been a good player of the years and i thank him for his great service, just this season he hasn't been into it as much as he could of been and wish him all the best if he moves on.
Little Nicky Posted 2 January 2005 Posted 2 January 2005 Daily Star says is going to be a £600,000 bid fom Norwich to replace the injured Mathias Svensson, I frickin hope it's true, would be great news, and we could get at least 1 decent player in!
Wellman Posted 2 January 2005 Posted 2 January 2005 Lets hope he plays tommorrow and then we get rid of him. Then that'll give us a chance to get somebody in until the next league game. I'd certainly ofload him for £500,000
spirefox Posted 2 January 2005 Posted 2 January 2005 Sky Sports News has just quoted Nigel Worthington saying he's made an enquiry for Dean Ashton.I just hope the price is too high.
Leicester_Mad Posted 2 January 2005 Posted 2 January 2005 Sky Sports News has just quoted Nigel Worthington saying he's made an enquiry for Dean Ashton.I just hope the price is too high. 51099 that will just spark a bidding war for Ashton who will ultimately end up at a club who will stay up

Les Ferdinand is also only 5' 11" compared to other strikers. Who's to say Tommy can't win his fair share of headers? B)

What do people want, Connolly and a Giraffe? Wright is tall enough...whether he is good enough is something that will need to be tested!

Ormandroyd was lanky piece of ****** and never got more than a couple of inches off the floor. Denis Law, to name but one was only 5ft 9" and could out jump most players and scored bucketloads with his head due to timing and jumping ability. Also I don't see any giants, not sizewise in the Arse and they manage to score aplenty

Whoever said Rooney and Owen - what Rooney has is strength which neither Connolly or Wright have Tommy Wright doesnt look like he has the ability to be the target man for our club
SilverFox Posted 2 January 2005 Posted 2 January 2005 what Rooney has is strength 51121 In comparison to the grannies he has been screwing yes!
Cobbo Posted 2 January 2005 Posted 2 January 2005 Ah, who needs a target man? It would encourage more of a passing game if we didn't have much height. And if we're good enough at it, things would be a lot better But as someone else said in another thread, what I think we really need is a Heskey type player who can win headers, beat a man etc. Create chances from nothing. I miss Bruno

I miss Bruno 51177 Firstly Les Ferdinand isn't that big compared to some strikers but his ability to hang in the air is immense and he's got that down to a fine art. It's a brilliant skill. I was watching the season review from 1996/97 recently and Heskey was absolutely amazing. His power and acceleration was frightening and some of his finishing was like his recent goals for Birmingham. Sometimes I forget how good he was for us but watching those games again just reminds me of what he did for the team. He used to pick the ball up out wide and then just power at defenders. Pure quality.
Hullfox Posted 3 January 2005 Posted 3 January 2005 My source inside the club (a fat bloke in the ticket office that i've never seen before) said he's signing for Norwich on Monday.
Wellman Posted 3 January 2005 Posted 3 January 2005 There was a rumour from the bloke infront of me that he is signing for Norwich 2moro for £500,000
