dandannieldanok Posted 16 December 2006 Share Posted 16 December 2006 Henderson 8 - Very good Stearman 4 - Poor throughout Kisnorbo 6 - Solid McAuley 6 - A few nervous moments but settled later on Johansson 6 - Solid Hughes 6.5 - Considering he isnt a winger, he made some good runs and passes Williams 7.5 - Made 90% of his passes count and kept things ticking over nicely Tiatto 5 - Didn't pass well or break up play Porter 8 - Still rough around the edges as percentage passing is concerned but brought a different dimension to our attacks. Wasn't afraid to run at the defence. Hume 5 - A few nice touches but it doesn't seem to be going his way at the minute Hammond 6 - Good performance but still missed two sitters. SussexFox Posted 16 December 2006 Share Posted 16 December 2006 went up to the walkers for the first time this season due to uni commitments, good result today heres my ratings... Henderson 8 - some good saves at an important time Stearman 5/6 - not impresssed tbh certainly seen him play better Kisnorbo 7 - good solid performance McAuley 6 - was i the only one who thought he was a bit shaky? gave the ball away a few times Johansson - 6 steady Hughes - 6 quiet for long periods but not bad Williams - 7 good passing Tiatto - 5 didnt really do a lot Porter - 8/9 running at defenders looked really lively to me deserved his goal Hume - 7 Hammond - 8 had a very good game today i thought
potter3 Posted 16 December 2006 Share Posted 16 December 2006 Henderson 7 - Good shot stopping, didn't look worrying at all today. Stearman 5 - He was just regaining his old form too. Johansson 6 - Not bad McAuley 7 - Looked shaky at the start but soon picked up. Kisnorbo 8 - Played as normal Hughes 8 - One of the best I've seen him play since his debut agaisnt Sunderland. Unlucky not to score. *Porter 9* - Man of the match IMO, good control for the goal too. Tiatto 6 - Ddin't see hm much Williams 8 - Offered so much more support to the strikers. Hume 6 - He rarely touched the ball Hammond 8 - Caused problems all game for them. Fryatt 6 - Much better than he has been of late. Weso 8 - Did all the work without making a fuss, didn't see him lose the ball.
DaveyJ Posted 16 December 2006 Share Posted 16 December 2006 Defense - Good enough , but too much hoofing when a pass could hav been made, plus would have been heavily punished on one or two occassions by a better team. Henderson 6 - Did what was needed and made a few decent saves Stearman 5 - Not at his best, stupid booking. Johansson 6 - nothing spectacular but did his job well and covered in the box too. McAuley 7.5 - made some great covering tackles, on the whole played well Kisnorbo 7 - defensively solid, but was guilty of too much hoofing Midfield - Much better in the seonc half, in the first got pushed back far too much, thus encouraging hoofing. Hughes 7 Porter 9 - first time i've seen him and i'm impressed. played very well, created a good chance in the first half, took his goal well. Tiatto 5 - Was alright, but allowed himself to be pushed back too much. Ridiculous way he got himself booked. Williams 7.5 - Played well, but seemed far more interested once we scored. Strikers Hume 6 - disapointing Hammond 7.5 - Gave everything and was rewarded with a goal. Also did well to get on the end on levi's cross from the right in the first half. Still lacks a quality first touch at time though. Subs Fryatt 6 - Should've given Hammond a better pass. Weso 7 - Maybe a little quite, but did his job and definitelt preferable to Tiatto. Kelly - Probably lucky we got the first goal, Barnsley were looking more dangerous. First goal came ahbout from one of the few times we passed the ball around. Still to much hoofing. Royston. Posted 16 December 2006 Share Posted 16 December 2006 Henderson 6 Stearman 6 Johansson 6 McCauley 6 Kisnorbo 6 Hughes 6 Tiatto 6 Williams 6 Porter 7 Hume 5 Hammond 6 Wesolowski 6 Fryatt 6 In general, Barnsley were the poorest side I've seen at the Walkers so far this season. We were a cut above despite not doing our best. Porter was man of the match for me, he seems high on confidence and now we dont have to rely on Hume for excitement. Hume by the way was poor today, hardly involved but he WAS ill.

Also porter looked dangerous down the wing

lcfc_forever Posted 17 December 2006 Share Posted 17 December 2006 I agree with Sheephead in making the distinction between the first half ratings and second half ratings. As bad as we were in the first half, we were as good in the second. You could see the players confidence increase hugely, especially Stephen Hughes who gave a performance that reminded everyone of his ability. It was great for Weso and Fryatt to come into a side bursting with confidence and both did well, especially Weso. With Williams in the team, we pass the ball along the ground much more which should bring out the best in the likes of Hume, Hughes, Porter, Fryatt et al. Agree with Sheephead's first half ratings. My second half ratings would be: Henderson 7 Stearman 7 Kisnorbo 8 McAuley 8 Johansson 7 Hughes 8.5 Williams 8 Tiatto 7 Porter 8.5 Hume 6 Hammond 7.5 Subs: Fryatt 7 Weso
Scow Posted 17 December 2006 Share Posted 17 December 2006 Henderson - 7 Good handling. Stearman - 5 Couldn't deal with their winger. Poor going forward as well. McCauley - 7 Looked a little nervy and unsure in the first half. Improved after the break. Kisnorbo - 7 The usual. Skills - 6 Restored some balance on the left. A little to slow to release the ball at times though. Defensively solid though. Hughes - 7 Lively in midfield and linked up well with Williams. Tiatto - 6 Average. Williams - 7 Provided that creative spark in midfield. Porter - 7 A genuine threat on the left. Maintained his width and got some good crosses in. Hume - 6 Quiet by his standards, good vision for the first goal. Hammond - 7 Good build and hold up play. Subs: Fryatt - Fryatt Weso - Provided more composure in midfield.
