Poor Les Reed

Poor bloke. A day before Christmas and he loses his job. I can only assume he'll be one of the old drunks in hospital tomorrow having drank much more than he should have done :o:P

Shame though really, I wanted Pardew down here. Guess it just wasn't to be... :(

i read he left by mutual consent

Yeh right. They just say that to soften the blow. Pardew said WHAM offered him 'mutual consent' but he said no because he didn't want to leave at all.

Aye he did, which means he is still out of a job does it not?

i feel sorry for curbs more than anyone tho

he was at charlton for 15 years :o and did a dam good job and in the space of 3 1/2 months all of his hard work has been ruined.

imagine how you'd feel if that happened to you

Just going by what the stories say mate.

If it were my club, I wouldn't even have appointed Les Reed manager, a club like Charlton needs a proper manager, who is tried and proven at Premiership level. They're in a right fookin mess and Alan Pardew is going to need a whole lot of good fortune to turn this around.

I don't feel sorry for Curbs at all tbh lol.. He's in charge of his favourite club, guided them to a win over Manchester United in his first game in charge, and got them playing some decent stuff against Fulham yesterday. He looks to be in the process of giving the players back the belief, team-work and confidence they had last season - and hats off to him :)

As for his hard work being ruined, it was always likely to happen once he left. Sure, it's a bit harsh on him 'cos he spent so long making Charlton what they were. But a new man in charge meant the start of a new era. Things were never going to be the same for them.

It's quite similiar to what happened to us in 2001/02 I reckon.

Great manager leaves after promoting them and keeping them steady in the Prem

Curbs/MON

Decent young manager from lower leagues replaces him and struggles

Dowie/Taylor

Old guy comes in to try and steady ship and fails

Reed/Bassett

And we both lost to Wycombe. :P

Well that's just marvellous.

Of all the jobs to take... my god.

As for Reed... wow. Sheffield Wednesday signed Sturrock for four years and sacked him a month later... Charlton gave Reed three years and sacked him two weeks later!

I hope they don't win another game all season. As much as I like Pardew, I hope he fails to turn things around for Charlton because as a club they have lost all the respect I once had for them. They've gone from one manager in fifteen years to three managers in fifteen weeks!

Disgusting.

Bet they don't go bust like we did though. :(

its not going to make a difference, charlton will still go down. they have been over-achieving for years and the only thing that has saved them every season is they always had a good start under curbishley. after xmas they are rubbish every season (i stand to be corrected if i'm wrong).

Hopefully he'll never have another job in football again.

He will.

After all, he single-handedly brought down England for Northern Ireland don't you know. ;)

Or so he says.

Unless it's at Forest, Derby, Cov or Villa. :D

I don't Barton would wish that buffoon even upon those teams!! :P
