Bert Posted 29 December 2006 Posted 29 December 2006 I normally love christmas. But this year something just hasn't felt right! Well looking forward to New Year's Eve! What's everyone doing?? Partaay, at my brothers.
Geordie Posted 29 December 2006 Posted 29 December 2006 Personally I think Christmas should be a mandatory 3 day holiday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. People should be allowed to spend time with family and friends and there should be a greater emphasis on why Christmas is celebrated. I am not overly religious, but if we are celebrating this holiday then it should be reflected upon and not be exposed to over commercialism as it is year on year.

We went to the Leicester Cathedral service on Chirstmas Eve and the place was packed - with not a single spare seat that I could see. Not quite the same atmosphere musically as in the great days of George Gray but a special evening nevertheless.
Scow Posted 29 December 2006 Posted 29 December 2006 Christmas day was great from what I can remember - then the booze took over and couldn't recall a thing after that. Not really been much of a Christmas for me. I had the standard 24/25/26 December off, but I was back work on the 27th. Even have to work tomorrow. I've always been used to having time off over Christmas, largely down to being in education. The banking profession is cruel.
lildave3 Posted 29 December 2006 Posted 29 December 2006 Me too! It felt weird.....like regular day or something. Exactly how it felt for me.
Goat Posted 30 December 2006 Posted 30 December 2006 Now we just need winter to end and for it to get a bit warmer!!
