jimbo32 Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 just seen on website my football news, we are at advanced stages of talks with hearts over the signing of 23 year old austrailian midfielder patrick kisnorbo.anyone heard anything, could be possible think hes out of contract in the summer, and would only be a small fee again.
Oli Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 Name: Patrick Kisnorbo Nationality: Australian Date of Birth: 24/03/1981 Height: 6' 2" (188cm) Weight: 11st 9lbs (74.0kg) Position: Defender Thats what I find on there site. A tough and talented centre-half who can also operate as a defensive midfielder or at full-back. Accordingly, in his first season with Hearts, Patrick's versatility and positive attitude has been a great asset to the team and he played an important role in helping the club back into the UEFA Cup through finishing 3rd in the Premier League. With his strength in the air and solid tackling, Patrick was a much admired member of the Australian professional club South Melbourne, whom he joined at the age of 16. He played for the Australian Youth International side that reached the World Youth Championship Finals in 2001 and then earned his first full international cap in July 2002 against Vanuatu. He was also invited to train with Leeds United, Hammarby of Stockholm and the French club FC Lorient. The rugged defender had played four times for Australia when he was recruited by Hearts on a two year contract. His move to Scotland has further enhanced his reputation and during the summer, Patrick added three more caps when he played for his national team in the OFC Nations Cup. He has also been called into the Australian U23 side recently. Patrick was one of the stars in Hearts UEFA Cup victory in Bordeaux where he demonstrated the potential to become a key man at Tynecastle. International appearances at Hearts: U23 (2 games); Full International (3)
Anish Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 I am getting a bit fed up of all these rumours linking us with more Hearts players. Sure Levein has worked with them before and knows their strengths, but he's not even given a number of players a chance here and he's looking to bring in players to replace them. For example, Tommy Wright deserves a start along with Richard Stearman, and Dawson also deserves some first team action soon. We need to know whether these players are actually going to be good enough before we decide to replace them with more Hearts players.
Oli Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 He is a defender and that is what we need at the moment, I think we should play Stearman. But not straight away. As for Dawson, I have never seen him play but he should get on the bench at least IF Levein thinks he is good enough. Tommy Wright, didnt really light up Division 2 last season, and you all say poor service, well the service he gets here wont be much better. Levein has involved all 3 of them youth players sometime during he has been here so they must play some part in the future. But he still needs to get some players in who he thinks are capable to get us back up. This lad is only 23 so he has time on his side and could prove to be a major asset. Stop moaning about what CL is doing for christ sake, give him some time to do his job and get the players he needs in.

A bit like our version of Gemmill. Maybe I'm thinking of someone else.
Oli Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 Whens Gemmil ever been a defender? This guy is a defender with 4 Australian apperances. Read the information at the top of this thread.
Louise Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 While he is a defender I believe he's been playing in midfield for Hearts.
Oli Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 I have heard good things about him from some Rangers fans, they said he is a decent player. Levein wont be buying him if he isnt capable.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 I know Gemmill isn't a defender. Maybe you didn't understand what I was saying. When we brought Levein to the club a few Hearts fans registered too. They mentioned one player, who I think is the one that is being talked about in this thread, and they said he was a complete donkey and we could have him if we want. I was comparing him to Gemmill because personnally I'd be glad to see the back of him too. Do you understand the comparison now?
Oli Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 , sorry mate, I had just heard good things about him though and thought you were thinking of someone else, we will see next time a hearts fan comes on. P.s Gemmill is useless.
SilverFox Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 While he is a defender I believe he's been playing in midfield for Hearts. 53048 Hearts have indeed been using him as a midfielder. Also herad on talkingballs from a hearts fan that, 'hearts fans have been hoping this is true', suggests he is not too favourably looked on perhaps?
Louise Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 The Scotsman says it's a pre-contract agreement, so we won't get him until the summer. http://sport.scotsman.com/football.cfm?id=25882005
Mark Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 Hearts' Australian International midfielder Patrick Kisnorbo is in advanced talks with Leicester City, and now looks destined to follow Striker Mark DeVries and defender Alan Maybury out the Tynecastle door and head down Filbert Street way. Fox's coach and ex-Hearts manager Craig Levein is keen on landing the 23 year old in a bid to bolster Leicesters chances of reaching the coca-cola championship play-offs.
Louise Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 The Scotsman article also says its likely to be a three year deal again.
allybx Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 Oh dear .How much are we going to give you to take him of our hands.
davieG Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 Oh dear .How much are we going to give you to take him of our hands. 53104 He's that bad, I would have thought that CL being a decent CB would at least be able to spot some potential in that position. The only other possible explanation is that he thinks this League is significantly worse than all of the Scottish Premier. and he would therefore excel in it. Oh Dear
Ricey Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 From what I've heard this chap isn't exactly reliable, I'm worried Levein is doing the Peter Taylor thing of only signing players he has worked with before. However Kisnorbo might just be a back up for out defence and midfield rather than a regular.
allybx Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 In all fairness to him he is a central defender. But who would we drop for him Pressley or Webster .I dont think so .Ive seen him ripped apart by a lot of other players this season. he's got no pace .I for one won't be sorry to see him go.
Babylon Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 From what I've heard this chap isn't exactly reliable, I'm worried Levein is doing the Peter Taylor thing of only signing players he has worked with before. However Kisnorbo might just be a back up for out defence and midfield rather than a regular. 53108 Surely peter taylor had only worked with Junior Lewis? At the end of the day can we all please just back CL. If everyone starts another witch hunt like it was under adams i'm off to support the tigers. When adams signed Dublin and Gillespie and most of the others we were all saying how wonderful they were going to be and look how they turned out!!!!! This guy may turn out to be amazing!! (corsses fingers)
Ricey Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 Surely peter taylor had only worked with Junior Lewis? 53110 Richard Cresswell, Trevor Benjamin, Lee Marshall, Jamie Scowcroft?............all at England U21 level.

Always gives his all and is pretty athletic and has age on his side. Another shitty cup day for us both eh?
Babylon Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 Surely peter taylor had only worked with Junior Lewis? 53110 Richard Cresswell, Trevor Benjamin, Lee Marshall, Jamie Scowcroft?............all at England U21 level. 53111 Yeah but look how well all those signings turned out!!

Just because Levein has worked with them before it doesn't mean they will be a success over here.
davieG Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 Surely peter taylor had only worked with Junior Lewis? 53110 Richard Cresswell, Trevor Benjamin, Lee Marshall, Jamie Scowcroft?............all at England U21 level. 53111 Yeah but look how well all those signings turned out!! 53123 Exactly - that's what Ricey's trying to say. Just because Levein has worked with them before it doesn't mean they will be a success over here. 53124 The difference is they were all playing at a much lower level and PT thought they would be good enough for the premier. I don't think the quality in the Scottish Premier, below Celtic & Rangers is worse than the Championship. In fact, judging by how well Hearts did in Europe I suspect that it's a lot better. CL has already gone on record as saying this division is shite so he must believe they can deliver here. The big question is will they be able to deliver in the Premier should we ever get back up. I don't think CL knows to be fair and at this stage he hasn't got the time to find out or the money to buy Premier quality so it's all academic..
Hullfox Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 Not for the first time I agree with Babylon. It seems to me that we are being very judgemental on who CL is buying and what he's doing without knowing the full story. We are buying players that CL knows are good enough to play for this club. We applauded his appointment, so applaud his decisions until such time as they are proven wrong. So it looks like we've bought three Hearts players and sent Tommy Wright out on loan. So what? CL has to build his own team and not be led by the supporters, none of whom have any managerial experience at this level of football. He has shown his intentions by already shipping out some crap and hopefully some more will follow as and when he is ready. Messrs Stearman and Dawson will get their chances as and when CL thinks the time is right. There are a lot of things that happen at the club in between the games that we have no knowledge of. I for one will give him every chance to do what he feels is right us.
