He needs a risk free, from CL's point of view opportunity to really to show he can deliver the goods. If he gets a good run and scores a few that will only benefit him and the club, on the other hand if he doesn't deliver, and what an incentive then I think his days at LCFC are numbered and finding out one way or the other, before the end of the season can only be good for LCFC. I wish him all the best and a bucketful of goals.

You have to realise the only reason they were is because they had so many chances to show how awful they were, but Wright didn't. So how can you make your mind up on someone you haven't seen play.

He may not be as good as Dion but none of us (who don't go to reserve games or don't watch training sessions) will ever know until Wright is given 4-5 games in a row...like Dion was at the start of the season.
Scow Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 Well, Dion has barely been effective upfront. He didn't win much in the air, probably because of the broken neck he sustained while playing for Villa. He would just stand there and flick the ball on to the opposition. I've watched Wright in the reserves this season, and I have to say he didn't impress me. However, he deserves a chance to show if he's up to it or not, like the rest of them. Hopefully he'll go to Blackpool and make an impression. But as we saw yesterday, Blackpool are a poor team and it could turn out to be another Brentford.

In general thought you are right, he did not wine nough in the air when he played upfront. I have never bene that impressed by Tommy Wright, very direct and selfish on the ball.
