Leicester City Nominated For Best Use Of New Media Award The Football League have announced the nominees for seven industry award categories in the 2007 'Football League Awards incorporating FourFourTwo's Top 50 Football League Players'. Leicester City have been nominated for the Best Use of New Media award sponsored by Sega Football Manager. Over 130 industry entries were received across all three divisions and twenty five clubs have been shortlisted for this year's Awards. The winners will be announced at the second annual Football League Awards which will take place at London's Grosvenor House on Sunday 4th March 2007. Expert judging panels were assembled for each category and the process of evaluating each entry took place at The Football League's headquarters on 18th and 19th January. Stewart Thomson, Commercial Director of The Football League said: "The Football League Awards incorporating FourFourTwo's Top 50 Players aim to champion achievements off the pitch as well as on it. The quality of the entries is testament to the innovative community, marketing and sponsorship programmes that clubs throughout The League are undertaking in order to maintain their places at the heart of the community." Jon Sanders, City's New Media Manager, added: "We are delighted to be nominated for the Best Use Of New Media Award. We have put a lot of time and effort into improving our online communication channels with supporters, and it is fantastic to see that has been recognised by the Football League." The award categories include: Community Club of the Year - sponsored by Wickes Brighton & Hove Albion Colchester United Millwall Norwich City Queens Park Rangers West Bromwich Albion Best Community Initiative - sponsored by The Football Foundation Brentford Brighton & Hove Albion Norwich City Plymouth Argyle S****horpe United Wolverhampton Wanderers Best Club Sponsorship - sponsored by Carling Brentford Ipswich Town Walsall Best Club Marketing Campaign Milton Keynes Dons Norwich City Nottingham Forest Preston North End Stoke City Wolverhampton Wanderers Best Matchday Programme - sponsored by PA Sport Cardiff City Colchester United Crystal Palace Hull City Plymouth Argyle Queens Park Rangers Stockport County Best Use of New Media - sponsored by Sega Football Manager Cardiff City Leicester City Norwich City Nottingham Forest Preston North End Sunderland Best Kit Design Burnley Huddersfield Town Hull City Norwich City Milton Keynes Dons Mansfield Town The Football League Awards will, once again, recognise footballing excellence, on and off the field, with clubs and players honoured alongside fans.
