lookwhaticando Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 Relegation to L1 would be a disaster. Mandaric may be able to get us on the cheap, but purchase price isn't the only associated cost!
Ric Flair Posted 26 January 2007 Author Posted 26 January 2007 I think Milan will believe he can save us from relegation just by his very presence. Kind of a "you are playing for you future" tonic. That and possibly a decent manager to come in with the usual short term lift in fortunes. On this basis if he still wants us he would rather pay £5m now then get us for nothing in 6 months and in L1. Why? Because it adds a year to the Premiership plan. And that will cost him £30m. I agree here. MM would not want to wait until this club either went in to admin or got relegated even if he got it for peanuts. He's already getting it for a knockdown price and the hassle he'd get for having to sort a club out that's in admin and in 2 leagues below the premiership just isn't worth it. At present Leicester are a very good investment if you know what your doing. He wouldn't take the risk to get us cheaper. He'll try and use tactics to put pressure on the board to get us on the rob, but admin and relegation is a step too far even for Mandy.
Webbo Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 It's a coming!!! if thats houghton , when did tilton on the hill change it's name?
leicestertrucker Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 I think he will buy the club !! But as January has nearly passed, i do not think there will be any great rush, IMO the plan was to buy the club as early as poss, and then try and improve the squad so we could of had an outside chance of making the playoffs, if promoted then he would have got an instant return on his money with the new TV deal that comes in next season. I would imagine his plan now is to get the club before the loan window shuts so that he can help to insure our championship status, that said, it may also make it easier for him to get rid of Rob Kelly if he wants to?? because any new manager who came in could spend the money on there own players and not be stuck with Rob Kellys choices for the next 3 years !!!
Kilworthfox Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 Relegation to L1 would be a disaster. Mandaric may be able to get us on the cheap, but purchase price isn't the only associated cost! The only thing I can cling to in our dire state is that we have never been down there! We can hold our heads high on that note! We are in good company with that record, if we went down 1, MM would still have to pay some money for the club as it would be in administration again, 2 LCFC would start the season like Rotherham did this year, 3, In all the time I have supported LCFC through all the mismanagement, this lot have realy shown how much they love the club...... There are some on the board who have lots more money than MM and they are prepared to see the city go to the gutter that is the kind of shit that I think is sooooooooooooo rich when they love the club like we Fans do!
teblin Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 He'll take over to allow kelly to get 2 or 3 on loan. No cash to spend though. those 2 or 3 would make sure we didn't end up in league 2.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 i'm pretty sure that when it was first announced that milan was after the club they released an official statement saying a number of businesses were loking to buy us. whats to stop any of them coming back? or was that a load of sh** to make milan hurry up and bid? if the latter is the case how ironic
Joe. Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 I think everything will still be fine to a certain extent. Fine that it will be completed, but not in time for the end of the January transfer window.
Simi Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 I think everything will be completed soon aswell. Maybe Mandaric realises that nothing drastic is going to improve this season. And maybe we will get in a couple of loan signings just to push us up the table away from the bottom. I hope anyway. Who Knows.
lcfc_jme Posted 27 January 2007 Posted 27 January 2007 Yes I still think he'll take over as planned though I know we won't be signing any players this transfer window. He'll be looking to conclude the deal as quickly as possible when the situation with his mother sorts itself out one way or another.
