Remember him?

Actually, I'll just add this;

It's inevitable. At some point Kelly will change it after x many defeats in a row, maybe this will be for the Luton game, maybe it will be by the time we play WBA, who knows. And it'll be like Sunderland where suddenly he played Kenton at left-back. He'll play NEJ, who won't be fit, who will have a shocker like Kenton, and won't play again all season before he leaves on a free in the summer.

Here's an idea Rob. If you're not going to play the f**ker, f**king sell him! willy puller.

Indeed.

NEJ was never that bad anyway.

Apparently though, we're better off playing a right back at left back, a centre back at right back, and a donkey as captain and one of the two centre halves.

Rob, you're a genius mate.

Now you put it like that, i wonder why he didnt do it earlier in the season?

Didnt NILS publically say months ago that he isnt going to sign a contract and that he wants to go back to the Premiership? Im sure I read that somewhere?

To be fair to the lad he enjoys eating and Christmas has only just gone so let him sweat off a few mince pies before he gets a proper run in the side. Also, we are flying at the moment and dont need him :rolleyes::unsure::whistle:

One of the best players so far this season, get him back in now!

Re-arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic springs to mind.

Agree, he should be in the side though. Preferentially at centre back, only then we have an issue in times of needing a left back.

RK really has fooked this up.

Completely agree, skills is one of the few solid dependable players we have. It doesn't matter that he's going back to the prem at the end of the season. The back four always looks more solid with him in it.

But then Kelly doesn't know what he's doing so I won't get my hopes up.

I don't think any of us understands Kelly's thinking on the back four. We play a right back at left-back, a centre-half at right-back where his lack of pace can be exploited and he sticks with a centre-half who clearly is in bad form and is prone to give away to many silly free kicks in dangerous positions. He dropped McCarthy once already this season and I think we kept a clean sheet against Barnsley. He should have the courage to do what's best in Leicester interests, not the captain. Our defence should be Johansson, Kisnorbo, McAuley and Stearman. It's so obvious these changes have to be made that it makes it all the more frustrating.

I've never been a big fan of Nils - he's too slow on the turn and too limited going forward - but doing what he's best at he's been one of our most consistently solid performers this season.

He got exposed against pace against a couple of good teams but why should that have been a surprise?. We all knew that would probably be the case. So why the dramatic change? We basically conceded a goal a game which as normal.

There is only any sense in making a change when there is a better available alternative. Otherwise perhaps we'd have had a new manager by now.

The only specialist options we have to Nils at left-back are Alan Sheehan, Joe Mattock and just possibly Danny Tiatto. We haven't used any, perhaps for good reason.

But if people who play left-back aren't good enough then I'm bloody sure putting right backs like Kenton and Maybury there won't work and that is simply demonstrated y the fact we now concede two goals a game on average and a lot of goals too often.

He's sure to change the back four after Cardiff.

I think he might go:

Tiatto, Porter, Wesolowski, Kenton.

Tiatto will get the chance to strengthen his weaker right foot, our goalkeeper will be able to see over Porter and Weso and Hammond will be left back cos he scored against Cardiff and needs to be in the team somewhere.

ISn't he also a centre back???

Yes. He could even play there instead of McCarthy but perosnally I would rather see McAauley centre back. There is no doubt that Nils should be at left back. Surely it should be obvious to Rob that a left back should be at left back. Why have the inconveince when you have the option to play a left footer.

If Maybury and McCarthy are still in the starting 11 against Luton then Kelly either has no other options or he's not watching the same games as the supporters. I would think McAuley will be moved to the middle, Kenton/Stearman put in at right back (I'd go for Stearman as we will be the home team and should go at Luton) and Johansson will play left back. When fit I think Kenton's been very consistent for us but going forward he isn't that good. Stearman on his day is good going forward and a solid defender but his days have been few and far between this season. McAuley and Kisnorbo have been our most consistent, solid centre backs this season. I think Kelly will make these changes or similar ones for Luton and the players dropped can't really complain because they must know they had shockers yesterday.
