Jimmy Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 was anyone else a victum of this before the game, as i was making my way to the ground walking past the away section the cov fans happened to be being escorted to the ground so we started the Leicestershire song, then for no reason the filth started shoving usd around and alomst sent us flying, my mate adam literally got kicked up the arse. i understand they needed to get the area clear but they had no need to start pushing and shoving, if we hadn't been such a jovial bunch ait could of really kicked off, all they had to do was form a line behind us and keep us moving that way OR form a line to stop us going past there in the 1st place. they could of caused a mass scuffle all because they decided to heavy handed and shove people who were walking away anyway around
john_lcfc Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 thats the police for ya mate.. they were shoving their cameras in L1,N1 and cov fans faces all game.
JoeyB Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 well its a good job your not nutters then as i was walking back over the bridge towards narborough(dunno how you spell it) road there were a few cov fans going: "leicester fans wot wankers" with there windows down so i turned round and said 3-0 going down and on came there music lmao
Jimmy Posted 17 February 2007 Author Posted 17 February 2007 thing is though if they were trying to get us to go quicker they had the oppersite effect as we started arguing with them and waiting for the others as we got fanned out
john_lcfc Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 they were always going to be touchy the police today as the game would have been ranked category C+ which is a very high risk of disorder.
Tubes Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 i am 16 and have benn stopped and searched twice outside the away stand this season both times just minding our own business also a bloke we go pub with has been stopped at the train station most weeks by the transport police or something they cause more trouble than they stop
lcfc_jme Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 they were always going to be touchy the police today as the game would have been ranked category C+ which is a very high risk of disorder. Indeed it was - which was the reason for the high numbers of police in attendance in and around the ground. I thought the way they policed the whole thing today was actually pretty good in all honesty, especially around N Block. They took the time out to talk to a few people and ease the tensions. Same with the stewards. Good stuff.
Flynny Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Anyone see that lone guy shouting behind the Cov fans as they went past the back of Nando's and the rest? A policeman stopped him, told him to shut up or he'd nick him, then smiled and asked what he'd had to drink. The guy was pissed as a newt, and said 'Red Bull'. Me and Leonisco about pissed ourselves.
Tommeh Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 me and a mate got searched and held for about 15 minutes at the train station, just because he left his ticket on the train and we were acting " suspicious" trying to go back and find it Twas 2 guys undercover, they took our names, clothing, personal details everything!! I've got this little pink slip at home to say you were stopped, searched and questioned by a policeman! Well over the top today IMO but at least there was no trouble.

I was also stopped at the train station for a good 10 mins by the coppers. I can't believe cov threw coins, espcially the amount they did into N block - I pissed myslelf when all the chavy knobbers who where over near L block about 20 mins before kick off all came swarming over to N block when they heard some atmosphere over there!

One of the more overlooked benefits of switching from L to N, that.
Daggers Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Overzealous? Me? I didn't mind being held at the station for 10 minutes, searched and sniffed by the dog...considering that I'd just arrived on a train from Nuneaton with a load of pissed-up Cov chavs. Apparently Cov chavs don't hold Leicester in very high regard, I discovered. I wonder what would have happened across the city if they had been allowed to roam free and unhindered? The police did a good job in trying circumstances.
a-fox Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 i saw about 10 leicester lads chasing about 30 cov lads down a street near town, and the cov lads that they were chasing were the ones that came over near n1 at the start of the game

That was bloody funny! Then you saw all the stewards and police surrying around to stop them moving any further. By and large I thought the stewards and the police did an excellent job yesterday- on the way back to to the station there was no trouble that I saw and the police were generally quite amenable.

I agree. The stewards did well with that. They could have easily checked their tickets and told them to move back to their orginal seats. The police did well considering the circumstances.
a-fox Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 were where the old bill when the shutter was getting bashed in
Flynny Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 I saw a load of Cov chavs aged about 13-14 asking for directions to the bus station in town. They looked pretty down. They were mouthy bu their hearts weren't really in it.
