joely22 Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 ...Just wondered what you lot thought your chances were for Friday? I don't think we'll get much from the match, if anything. You lot always seem to play well against us and we never seem to win at your place. Although we have just equalled the club record away wins in a season (12) and to beat that against you would be pretty special but I honestly doubt we will. Steve Howard is suspended and we don't have much upfront in my opinion. Also, he plays a big part in defence adn we will miss him. I think that you lot are good from set pieces so that will be a danger. I'm not so much worried about conceeding but more of scoring. We are likely to play Makcen upfront with Barnes playing jsut behind him so we are relying on goals from midfield more than anything. Thoughts? Cheers, Joel
potter3 Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 I'd be surprised if you come away with anything other than a win to be honest
Brainy Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 Leicester 3-9 Derby Off topic, whats a popular Derby forum? I might pay a visit sometime
Bert Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 I'd be surprised if you didn't come away with a clean sheet and at least 3 goals.
Simi Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 You will dominate the midfield so goals from midfield could be very likely. Barnes is definately going to be a big threat to us and I'm not to sure how Johnson is going to manage to keep up with him. .

joely22 Posted 1 April 2007 Author Posted 1 April 2007 I'd be surprised if you come away with anything other than a win to be honest Why? Are you THAT poor at the moment? What will your line-up be like? We'll probably line up: Bywater Mears - - - Moore - - - Leacock - - - McEveley. - - - - - - - Jones - - - - -Oakley - - - - - - - - -. Teale - - - - - - - - Barnes - - - - - - - - Fagan. - - - - - - - - - - - - Macken - - - - - - - - - - - -. Not much upfront really so will be hoping for goals from midfield as I said earlier.
holly Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 your gunna completely spank us, make us look even worse than normal i would imagine. can see it being 3/4-1 to derby
joely22 Posted 1 April 2007 Author Posted 1 April 2007 www.nepforums.co.uk/therams Yeah I post on the nep. Is pretty decent, there's a section for each match so it's pretty easy to find
joely22 Posted 1 April 2007 Author Posted 1 April 2007 your gunna completely spank us, make us look even worse than normal i would imagine.can see it being 3/4-1 to derby Nah it will be a lot closer than that. You always seem to do something against us! Have we won at the Crisp Bowl yet?
Bert Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 Our line up is so unpredicatable at the minute. Gareth McAuley will be back for us which isa big plus and Levi Porter should start, Matty Fryatt should start hopefully. The game will be won in midfield, yours is good ours isn't. It'll be the Giles Barnes show im afraid to say. Billy Davies is a top manager.
dandannieldanok Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 If the form of both teams carries on into the match, Derby will win convincingly. I wouldn't pick any of our midfield ahead of Derby's if given the choice.
Bert Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 Nah it will be a lot closer than that. You always seem to do something against us! Have we won at the Crisp Bowl yet? No. 3-1 and 1-0 defeat and a 2-2 draw.

Giles Barnes will play in the hole like Rooney does and he's been playing pretty well so I'd expect him to have a good game. I think we'll win the battle in midfield. Jones will do all the passing etc. Oakley will cut out the passes. And hopefully Barnes will find a bit of room because if he does then you will be in trouble!!

He just might be your best player.
joely22 Posted 1 April 2007 Author Posted 1 April 2007 No.3-1 and 1-0 defeat and a 2-2 draw. Well it improves each season so hopefully we'll get the win this season
Sods Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 we will lose, but tbh i din't think much of your team apart from the lad barnes when we played you. So if we have Jonno Weso hughes jarrett nobody to keep him quiet we might have a chance. What do you lot make of us bringing sheep obviosly blow up ones.

Bert Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 Hume. McAuley. Kisnorbo. That'll be the three most popular choices.
dandannieldanok Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 Out of interest, which Leicester players would you pick over Derby's? Well considering you put down Macken to play I would take Iain Hume ahead of him. Also probably either McAuley or Kisnorbo ahead of Moore because he is a bit of a lump. Other than that I would probably keep the whole Derby team.
Matt Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 Out of interest, which Leicester players would you pick over Derby's? None. Sack them all - If you read "Foxes to be culled" you'll see this is the general concensus!

joely22 Posted 1 April 2007 Author Posted 1 April 2007 Hume.McAuley. Kisnorbo. That'll be the three most popular choices. But over what players? The last two play in defence I think? So one would be in for Moore. Personally, I don't rate Moore, eventhough he is good for this division. Neither would be over Leacock, has been outstanding for us this season. One of the best centre backs in the divsion. Him and Moore have formed a solid partnership. Hume is a good player - we wanted him in the summer and Davies has always been a fan so yeah I'd accept that!
DB11 Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 The only way we would win is if the players up their game as it is against a better team and a team who are higher. If we live up to our current history (doing well against the 'big' teams) then I can see us scraping a 1 or 2-0 win.... but if Derby score first we're gonna get spanked!!!!!!!
