davieG Posted 27 January 2005 Posted 27 January 2005 But he thinks Scowcroft is our best player and that Stewart can't play.'Nuff said. 59518 It's just an opinion Alex, just because it's different doesn't means it's wrong or silly. Maybe the fact that Scowcroft has been an ever present since his arrival implies that everyone who thinks he's rubbish is wrong, bit like Heskey and England, Fans say no, Managers say Yes, well until recently. Opinion does not = fact. Personnally I think Scowcroft is a reasonably talented footballer he can control the ball, he can pass the ball, he can head the ball, he can score goals. What's seems to be missing is some passion and desire, he's a wasted talent. As for Stewart there's plenty who think he can't play, I've heard people say he can't tackle, he can't pass, he can't cross, he can't take decent corners, he can't go pass people, he loses the ball, he trips over himself. All of which he's guilty of, the question is how often does he do these things? Some people create mind sets for themselves and then look for the evidence to prove it and are blinkered to the evidence that contradicts it, it happens in a all walks of life not just football. Sorry about that Alex, I didin't mean to lecture, once I got started I couldn't stop. I'm sure you weren't intending any slur but I'm apt to go on as I'm doing know. Shut up davieg you're boring the pants off people. B)

B) 59533 WELL SAID DAVID G ....READ MY COMMENTS ON TRY TO MAKE A DECENT FORUM! 59539 I've read your comments Cellseven and they are very valid, to be fair to Alex he was not abusive just short and to the point, which is ok, on the other hand I recognise that one can be too wordy and this can become boring (Hands Up I'm guilty sometimes) and that can also detract from the forum if there is too much of it. Some people just don't have the time to read long essays nether mind write them. Let's all aim for a happy medium of succinct, intelligent, humourous, relevant and therefore interesting comments. Time for me to shut up.
Louise Posted 27 January 2005 Posted 27 January 2005 All that said, GtF could try to be a little bit happier when we win sometimes...
Collymore Posted 27 January 2005 Posted 27 January 2005 Iv'e figured it out, it all makes sence....gilbert the filbert is............................................. davieg
Nationwider Posted 27 January 2005 Posted 27 January 2005 Good old Gilbert. I Always enjoy his pre- and post-match missives. Comes across like a befuddled old uncle, on the brink of that final descent into madness (sometimes). Always worth a read.

Steven Posted 27 January 2005 Posted 27 January 2005 I wonder whether Gilbert hasn't lost it. This piece was about as bad as I have ever seen written by him. <_<

Scow Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 He is a bit bizarre to be fair. His previews are 'different', that's for sure...
