Maybury: We can match top sides

Leicester defender Alan Maybury believes playing the Championship's front-runners brings the best out of the Foxes.

Rob Kelly's side failed to record a victory in March and last tasted success at struggling Burnley on February 20.

The Foxes are 17th in the table after a six-match winless run and Maybury knows they must be less charitable ahead of the Good Friday clash with leaders Derby.

Maybury told the club's official website: "It's a bit frustrating. Against the good sides who come here and play the football, we feel we more than match them. If it's a scrappy game, a fight, a battle, we're not quite so good and it's a little bit disappointing.

"We are stuttering along at the moment and we can't seem to pick up the points.

"We've not been too bad, but we're giving away silly goals. We're not getting anything easily and we're giving them away too easily."

I really would rather the players said nothing at all rather than come out with this horseshit.

Seconded.

And also "we're not getting anything easily". RIGHT LET'S BLOODY ANALYSE THAT SHALL WE MAYBURY YOU IDIOT!

Last four goals we've scored;

Elvis with a mishit shot that rolled into the corner at a snail's pace.

Kenton with an open goal after Kisnorbo had assaulted their keeper in mid-air while he had the ball.

Hume's penalty against QPR when Cullip handballed it needlessly after we'd not looked like scoring all game.

Hume's crap header against Leeds where their keeper slipped and it just looped into an empty net.

We're a classy side though because we have a smashing bunch of lads

This provides me with an adequate opportunity to proclaim how much I dislike Maybury as a player and now as a person.

On the pitch he is slow, looks like he's about to shit himself whenever the ball comes near him and just looks unnatural playing - like the kid who always got picked last at school.

And now off the pitch he comes out with THIS.

F**k off Maybury, f**k off.

Really smashing set of lads !

I just can't fault there effort. So it doesn't really matter if we go down does it. :dunno:

I'd like the fcuknut to sit in the stand with the rest of us, watch us for a few games & then try the old 'we've not been too bad' line again.

Mind, without his unique brand of reckless defending on display we might not concede so many stupid goals & thus prove his point. Either way it's gotta be worth a try

can someone send a link of this thread to peter jones and get him to print it off and pin it to the wall in the dressing room (instead of the ridiculous pictures of maybury and paddy mac that they have up) they really need telling how we feel and how fed up we are with their hollow platitudes before each game, where we see the same old shite dished up under the name of 'football'.

*when i say 'we' i mean some/most of (delete as appropriate)
