Mort Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Do i bother to go... or should i just go watch 'sunshine' at the Odeon... its a sad state of affairs when this is what me and a mate of mine were debating what to do on Friday.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Remember wen we beat the scum 4-0 at Pride Park or when Robbie Savage won us that peno in about the last minute.... Those were the days....
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Remember wen we beat the scum 4-0 at Pride Park or when Robbie Savage won us that peno in about the last minute.... Those were the days.... Or when gunnlaugsson bagged two I think at Filbo against em...
Simi Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Remember wen we beat the scum 4-0 at Pride Park or when Robbie Savage won us that peno in about the last minute.... Those were the days.... Derby really did love Sav for that ! We have much more of a chance now Howard and Jones are out. The midfield will be crucial again. Once again I think we will be too weak in the centre.
Ric Flair Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Robbo, 2 of the games you've mentioned were under Peter Taylor, which weren't exactly the most enjoyable of years. But having said that, they were a damn sight more enjoyable than the here and now!
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Or when gunnlaugsson bagged two I think at Filbo against em... I would have respected gunnlaugsson a bit more if he had worn bigger shirts! i will be wathcing in the boozer with a pair of tw@ts i call mates!
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 The way we were They really were robbed that game, they were just so much better than us ah well.

Granted, but puttin 4 past Derby at Pride Park is somethin special and I remember bein in the Kop for the arnar goals too, great atmosphere.... prob be nothin like Fri tho
Simi Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Derby havent won at the Walkers before have they? Nope not yet, plenty of time yet though.
Tommeh Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 we will win BUT I'd certainly take a draw and can see it being 1-1. With Howard out and them only really playing 1 up front in Macken I can't see them scoring too many although with Barnes in behind he will cause us problems. Start Fryatt, Hume, Levi and Newton and I can at least see a route of goal for us

The 3-2 win at PP was also fookin brilliant as was the Gunnlaugsson show. Just the memories of the latter two are clouded by the manager we had for both games. What a twat he was.

If we had of taken on another manager who'd have spent that cash wisely we could realistically be where Bolton are now....

It would have just been some other gimp who fooked everything if it hadn't be taylor!!!!!
Ric Flair Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Just been on to a Derby website and they aren't half worried about us on Friday. Lots of them saying 'Write Leicester off at your peril' what the mince? Are they serious, we are absolute barry and it would take a miracle for us to do them on Friday the way we've been playing and defending. I can understand them being a bit twitchy come this stage of the season, but they needn't worry about this game. Sewn up for them. I think it will be a heavy win for them. Giles Barnes will run amok and Seth Johnson will have a walk in the park in the midfield battle. He'll win it hands down without having to bust a gut.

davieG Posted 4 April 2007 Author Posted 4 April 2007 McAuley & Horsfield could return. By Bill Anderson Robert Kelly today called on his Leicester City players to give the Blue Army something to shout about. City can think of no better way to inspire their fans than by doing well against table-toppers Derby County at the Walkers Stadium on Friday. Manager Kelly said: "It is up to us to give our fans something to cheer and this game against Derby is the perfect occasion. "In general, our fans have been very good this season and we all understand their frustration which we all share when things go wrong. "But it is up to us to get them behind us by doing well. We have drawn a line under our recent defeats and we are hoping to move forward and for the fans to move forward as well." City's last home outing was the abject 3-1 reverse to struggling QPR. There is definitely an air of making amends and City need some more points to be absolutely sure of not being dragged into the relegation dog-fight. Kelly insists everyone at the club is aware of the situation. He said: "There are 21 points still available and we are focusing on trying to get as many of them as we possibly can. "We have hit a sticky patch lately but we have turned it around before and I am sure we can do it again." Defender Gareth McAuley had a scan yesterday on his hamstring injury but it showed nothing untoward, so he will be battling for fitness for the Easter programme. Friday's clash might be asking a lot but the trip to Plymouth on Easter Monday looks a better bet. Striker Geoff Horsfield, who missed the Stoke game because of a foot injury, is on the mend and could give Kelly an option up front. Even though no signings are possible between now and the end of the season, City are still casting their net. They had a scout watching highly-rated Cork City midfielder Roy O'Donovan, once on Coventry's books, and Kelly emphasised that this was all part of the process leading towards the summer. He said: "We are still looking at players we feel can do us a good job and in the summer we will be carrying on with it in various places, for example in Scandinavia, where their leagues are just about starting. "So we are not sitting still but any developments would not happen until the summer."
Ric Flair Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Our father, who art in heaven... It's times like this when i'm jealous of the religous folk.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 It's times like this when i'm jealous of the religous folk. Roy O'Donovan???? No relation to Jason....
Geo V Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 we just cant stop talking about the good old days can we?? We need some good new days FFS! Time to start the feel good factor for the weekend with the dicking of Derby, securing our place in this division and denting there promotion hopes. The suns out and its happy days!
lookwhaticando Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 I fear for McAuley.... if we ship another bunch of goals, he might be seen as part of the problem (someone usually has to pay, just as Nissa) - and another defensive rotation will take place. On the other hand, I'm convinced his absence has cost us dearly and his return will see a tightening of the defence. I reckon we'll nick it.... 4-0.
Mort Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Hmmm... if we lose do you think that the threat of relegation could finally see MM giving RK the boot before the end of the season?
