Stuliasz Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 The legend that is mad biker has informed the people of talking balls that elliott's contract has been cancelled today. He has been a truly great player in one of our glory periods, and surely now it is the official start of a new era.
Muz Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 He is a legend but CL is doing all the right things
Matt Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 Nothing on the OS yet....I only believe things once they've been made official...and even the OS has been known to be wrong in the past
Guest Daniel Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 Hope he is right, he's rarely wrong. Good move from CL. Some good memories from a City legend.

spirefox Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 If this is Matty's goodbye I hope he gets a proper send off.He will become a legend . My 3 highlights are 1. 2 goals to beat Tranmere at Wembley 2. winning goal for "reserves" in semi against Villa 3. watching Berkamp complete hat trick in 3-3 draw.
Scow Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 What a player. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that he was one of the top defenders in the Premiership in his prime. Dominant in the air, great positional sense, and an excellent user of the ball, with plenty of skill. I'll never forget that goal he scored against Chelsea in the FA cup when he made Desailly look like a fool as he turned him inside out. It's not gone well for him during the last few years, but he's served us well and I wish him the best.

Shum Posted 28 January 2005 Posted 28 January 2005 Total respect to the man, a great servant to the club! His goals against Villa and against Arsenal stand out most from me.... A great defender, passer etc. All the best son. PS: To be fair, his missus was fit!
Chandler Posted 29 January 2005 Posted 29 January 2005 ...and this is the upside of goldfish syndrome: nobody remembers that for two seasons, Matty was the son of Satan. Which is just as well. So long Matt. Thanks for the memories - most of them good. And if you do have a trollope for a wife DON'T BURN THE ****ING HOUSE DOWN!
shen Posted 29 January 2005 Posted 29 January 2005 still no news reports about it oh well.. he's on his way out soon anyhow, so a big thanks for his part in our Cup winning and European team...
Cat Burger Posted 29 January 2005 Posted 29 January 2005 There was an interview with him afterwards, heard the end of it but sounded like he has gone.
