just listening to the phone in, i have got to say i like nigel worthingtons views he is sharp and knows what he wants. And i know people have said they dont want him there... but i just cant see what he can do, and i dont believe he has came in at the best up times as we all know, this should have been done in january. But all that a side it wasnt and we find ourseleves here and now... so lets just get behind the team and lets keep the faith!!

OR TRY !!! :dunno:

I have to say after that phone in I have had every single last big of postivety drained out of me, we are going down.

And thanks to alot of you we're going to have 10 Leeds United fans laughing at us when the unfortunate event occurs.

Methinks the idea Birch had about a rallying call (he meant rather than him coming onto the pitch) will mean a pitch appearance from Mr. Walsh and possiby Mr. Taggart......... :worship:

Apart from the result against Norwich he's been a breath of fresh air compared to Kelly and the fact that the team couldn't keep up the pace he wanted wasn't really his fault on reflection. At least he sounds like he tried to get them playing properly.

He's wrong about the midfield.

But no matter. Weso's kick started our comeback last season and perhaps he'll literally have kick started our salvation by catching Jarrett in training - but only if Wortho voluntarily concedes in the Leicester managers' battle to go longest without an attacking midfield player before they lose their jobs.

Of course we've got to get behind Wortho - I mean to support him not to push him out - because he's our last chance, because non of this is his fault and because he's Irish and might have some sway with the leprachauns which is what it's coming down to.

Everything's been said really, all advice and options have been forwarded, calls have gone out to absent friends and all we can do now is support both the team and the manager for all we're worth. Wear dark glasses if you like but keep singing.

It is so bad I'd even sing next to Hullcox if I had to and if I thought it would help. Mind you I'd do a crash course in vocal training first, otherwise his condescending air would be impossible.

I'd also wear a flak jacket. You can't be too careful.

In some regimes I know what they've done to wordsmiths, agitators and people whose oratory can rally protest. And you never know if the bastards have got an English branch!.:D:D

Shame that you won't be able to watch the match, what with your head being so far up your arse.

I've forgiven him lots but I'll not forgive his midfield and the fact that his fast-fading old timers not only lost another game they could have won but also ruined a bloody good afternoon out. :(

I'm still having to work on not giving a shit.

Which old timers?

McAuley? Kisnorbo? Kenton? Newton? Jarrett? Hume? Fryatt? Logan? Wesolowski? (the over 20s)

Porter? lol

Mattock? lol

Newton was the only player in his 30s... the rest were late 20s (McAuley, Jarrett, Newton) and the rest early 20s or even younger.

Or am I missing something?

I think he ment old timers in style, in that they cant play like his beloved youth team.....

...Although id like to say bring them in, get rid of the lazy oldies, nad give the young blood a go birmingham will be expecting the usual rubbish, lets confuse them with players only their youth team will know about!

Funny thing is Birch basically admitted Robert "What a great coach" Kelly had crap fitness standards, compared to Wothington!!!

The biggest problem with our older players is they simply can't last the pace of a season in the championship.

Kenton's been forever injured. Johnson's been the same. McAuley is slow anyway, Tiatto's been part time cos of injuries, Maybury seems to be creaking in his head, Horsfield should be retired to stud and Nils is another who is too slow and vulnerable to be an up and down full-back.

Compare these to the still dynamic Ryan Giggs, the tireless Paul Scholes and the relentless Phil Neville until his recent injury and you might get my point.

Football lasts 90 minutes. If that's too long for the team you've got no chance.
