The ‘Can we pretend we’re not in the shit and look for tiny positives’ thread?

Recommended Posts

No need to be down! Here's why:

1. Statistically we weren't awful. Brum are a quality team. This isn't too shameful. We're ALLOWED to lose.

2. Mattock. Promising. Also I knew him once this makes me famous.

3. Attacking purpose displayed at least a little bit tonight. 10 minutes maybe?

4. Stadium was louder than the Central Lending Library, for a change.

5. Danny C fit and looking competent. Back on the crack, hopefully.

6. We only conceded 2 goals.

7. Horsfield's fairly old and might die?

8. Jarrett rhymes with carrot. This could be helpful when writing poetry.

9. We can always get Dodds in.

10. MK Dons on a Tuesday night might be a laugh

11. We'll be fine anyway, all we have to do is "keep the faith". "We're in it together.'

12. Our lack of fight might baffle Barnsley into submission.

13. Suicide isn't so bad an option.

Cynical, cliched and boring...

The real positives were:

1. Worthington making some tough decisions, drawing on his experience. Something we missed with Kelly.

2. The fans (I wasn't there but by all accounts it was a top effort, I salute you).

3. Possibly in response to the fans it sounded like the players gave it their all in the second half. If they can keep that up for 3 games we will stay up.

4. Introduction of youth team players - it can give a lift to all the players and their performances sounded solid enough.

5. Attacking - it was late in the game but the tactical switch by Worthington ultimately lead to a goal. Let's carry on in that same vein...

Although we lost I have regained some (misplaced?) belief. The last few games will prove 3 of the most defining in our history but I honestly believe we can get the point(s) we need.

COME ON LEICESTER.
