Canero

Can someone explain why Makin is ahead of him? And why he can't even get on the bench. What's going on with him?

I am wondering the same thing. He is much better than Makin so I would guess that there has been some sort of fallout between Canero and CL or that CL simply doesn't like Canero for some reason or other.

Isn't Canero scottish?

This might explain it...

Yes he is a jock, his surname just gives it away. You know, McDougal, Macmillan, McSporran and Canero. Obvious innit.

Well he dont like the scottish so this could explain it?

If Canero is fit and available it would appear to suggest that

1. CL does not rate what he has seen of him

2. CL had already decided about Canero from what he saw at Kilmarnock

3. CL seriously rates numerous players above Canero in any position he could play

4. CL really doesn't like Scottish players

Wonder if Micky Adams could have a word with his mate Micky Adams the football manager and take him to the Covscum - it would release it bit more cash if CL is not going to play him.

Sorry this is complete Bollocks guys, he has been sticking with Williams lately, and he's a scot, I know you are all only picking on a coincidental point but I think you'll probably find its more to do with the fact that Canero has said something out of line or done something to get CL's back up in the past, now that does happen! however as I'm quite certain, Canero will play for Leicester again, perhaps only next season, as Makin won't stay and Canero can start to prove properly why he's the right man for the job on the right wing rather than Keith Gillespie!

It's a nice idea....right? (i hope so :S )

I dont rate Canero anyway of what ive seen of him has not impressed me.

Although , id rather see him in the team than Makin

If he dont like the scottish what nationality is Gareth Williams Irani cummon CL will have no prejudice he obviously just think Caneros shite

I think that CL has a problem with Canero and that is likely to be that he does not rate him.

The Scottish bit is a joke chaps.

I can't judge him. He's hardly played for us and he's been here for over a year. If he can get into the scotland side, he must have some quality. (although getting in to the scots side is hardly an acheivement these days  )

He did okay when he played in the first couple of games under Craig Levein. There must of been some sort of incident. He seems to have taken the role of Arnar Gunlauggson (The forgotten man)

I find it odd that nobody bothers to interview him and find out whats up. Or asks CL for that matter...

another possibility (however unlikely) may be that Canero is still on his way back from his 'injury'..

Probably because the lad hasnt been given a proper chance under CL - I also feel that CL doesnt rate him - which is a shame.

Well at least CL's realised that Gemmill isn't going to be of any use on the pitch :)

I would like to know the truth about Canero though - us LCFC are never told what really happens from the club.

Canero is fit. He was in the travelling squad yesterday as I saw him in the stands with Gemmill and the bus driver.

he could be unfit though...abit like De Vries

He's played in 3 out of the last 4 games in the reserves, so he can't be injured. Maybe he just isn't match fit, but I think it goes deeper than that...

He may have been injured.

Meanwhile, Peter Canero is a likely starter for a City XI who travel to holders Hinckley United tonight for a Westerby Cup quarter-final.

Unlikely to play in that unless he was in need of some fitness work.:unsure::rolleyes:;)

I'd rather see Stearman ahead of both of them (If CL sees him as a Right back)!

I thought Canero did well on the right wing last season the couple of games he played, but slightly dodgy at right back (but still better than Makin). I understand that he WAS injured but I dont think this is the reason hes not playing now. It would be interesting if someone could ask Levein why hes not playing...

Posted

If you read the reserve section in the programme there's a section about Canero and how it's a case of his fitness improving. He just needs more games eg the Westerby Cup games and reserve games. Maybe Levein hasn't fallen out with him as much as people have thought?

I would prefer to see Canero as left back in place of useless Jordan Stewart. Canero can play there as well as at right back - if I am correct, I think he played there for Kilmarnock.....

It's very harsh to call him useless. I'm pretty tired of listening to people getting on his back...But as long as CL keeps picking him I'm happy, and hopefully in the long run, he will have convinced some of the stubborn fans.
