ASH17LCFC Posted 4 November 2007 Posted 4 November 2007 ...so, going undefeated until yesterday isn't 'the real thing'? Its is the mighty legaue 1 to be fair, hardly like your the champions of europe now
lcfc_jme Posted 4 November 2007 Posted 4 November 2007 ...Now you mention it, I would like to see some evidence of things going our way from the authorities... Granting you the bleedin Golden Share you needed to be allowed to compete in the forking league in the first place is enough!! It just winds me up how you lot consider everything authoritarian to be anti-Leeds all the time, whether it be The FA, The Football League, Referees, the Police, The Government, MI5 or George Bush. I'm sure Leeds are awarded their fair share of dubious and controversial decisions, it's just we never seem to hear Leeds fans making a huge deal about said decisions 'cos they're in their favour.

leedslad Posted 4 November 2007 Posted 4 November 2007 Well you said potential in future games, and that's what i was referring too, you've had a good start and im sure you'll win the league, but you have to put this potential to use, was what i was trying to get at because yuo clearly didn't put it to use at Carlisle if you understand that. Fair point.

The 'us against the world', mentality has united the fans and team for the first time in years and we all have a common objective- succeeding in this league, we believe we have a point to prove. If it wasn't for this mentality, I think we'd still be bottom of the league.
Finnegan Posted 4 November 2007 Posted 4 November 2007 It's not that attitude that pisses me off at all. I mean I think there's a certain element of that at Leicester, too. Let's be fair - we're not the most popular club in the world! I don't mean that in a "Oh-we're-so-hardcore-like-Cardiff!" sort of way, more of a "before-Mandaric-we-were-so-boring-the-press-hated-us!" kind of way. It's always been a bit like that, when was the last time you heard a Londoner or, I dunno, someone from Bristol or Newmarket turn around and go "Yeah? Leicester City, I quite like them for some reason..." The attitude that pisses me off with Leeds fans isn't the emo, we're-so-hated complex, it's the superiority complex. Spend five minutes reading WACCOE and you'll be shaking your head. Not really out of anger or disapproval, to be honest, more just... pity. Some of the "yeah, who cares? we're still a bigger fking club than shitty Wigan!" or whatever stuff just makes you laugh. How sad, deluded and in denial do you have to be to not be able to just say "Y'know what? We might be ripping up the League... but remember WHICH league we're in"? The day you face up and accept the fact that most people at the clubs Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool don't even CONSIDER Leeds on a day-to-day basis will be the day you can have just a SHRED of my respect.
Brainy Posted 4 November 2007 Posted 4 November 2007 HAHA. They've just beat you 3-1. If you were that good, you would've beat them. I take it your on about the game, not Leeds, if you get me?
Hullfox Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 As usual, a minority of fans let the majority down. This happens quite a lot in football. It's happened for both Leeds and Leicester (granted; us more often). It always will happen, the sooner you realise that the better. So it's alright then that because you're Leeds and you have some tw@ts that follow you that yet again there is a trail of destruction in your wake. Pubs turned over, locals attacked and it's alright because it's a minority. If the majority got rid of this minority you'd be more acceptable. End of.
Ultra Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 To be fair, Carlisle have more than a few headcases of their own, who would have relished the challenge of a visit from Leeds. Expect plenty of noon kickoffs in games involving Leeds later on in the season..

Simi Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 I thought it was ?? You've got it all wrong. It's Zeberdee.
lcfc_jme Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 You've got it all wrong. It's Zeberdee. But he's scared of Stanley?
leedslad Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 So it's alright then that because you're Leeds and you have some tw@ts that follow you that yet again there is a trail of destruction in your wake. Pubs turned over, locals attacked and it's alright because it's a minority. If the majority got rid of this minority you'd be more acceptable. End of. If you're on about Carlisle. How about a nice fact for you; 21 arrested out of over 16000. 13 were Leeds. Doesn't quite look like the full scale riots the Carlisle media is reporting does it. Media hyperbole as usual. (Granted their were some scuffles near the station, but compared to what the paper's are reporting) What the fook are you on about- 'yet again'? Ah, it was Leeds fans who caused £6000 of damage to buses at ER last week was it not? No There hasn't been any trouble at any away ground this season! (Until Saturday) Here is a media report on the 'trouble'; I've annotated it in italics Fan clashes lead to 21 arrests Published on 04/11/2007 By Julie Armstrong CONFRONTATIONS between rival football supporters led to 21 arrests of both Leeds and Carlisle fans. Arrests were made in Brunton Park and the city centre before and after Carlisle beat the previously undefeated Leeds 3-1. Police had 130 officers on duty and described the operation as "the largest of its kind in maybe 30 years". Police overkill Of those arrested, 13 were Leeds fans and eight were Carlisle supporters. A total of 18 were later charged with various public order and criminal damage offences, and given football banning orders. So 3 were arrested for no reason- over-zealous policing? Pubs and bars at the top of Botchergate were shut while Brunton Park emptied of 16,600 supporters and 3,400 Leeds fans made their way towards the train station. Scuffles in the street were quickly dealt with by police, who contained opposing fans near the station using vans and dogs as well as horses drafted in from Cleveland. Yet there was no trouble on Warwick road, where there wasn't masses of riot police, dogs or horses etc. Over-zealous policing anyone? Officers were on high alert after fights in three city centre pubs about two hours before kick-off. Scores of Leeds fans descended a train at about 1pm and were frisked by police for any hidden weapons before being allowed to leave the station. That's one way of making the ordinary occurence of getting off a train, sound like it was chaos Officers arrived within seconds of brawls breaking out in Walkabout, the Border Rambler and Woodrow Wilson. aka the police locking Leeds fans in pubs, Carlisle fans bricking the windows, the leeds fans attempting to get out Rowdy fans smashed windows in the Rambler and Woodrow Wilson. Shreds of glass were left scattered over pavements as the suspected thugs were taken away in police vans. Superintendent Andy Davidson said, "In overall terms, the policing of this event was a success, notwithstanding a small minority of people who spoiled the enjoyment for others. "It was disappointing to see large numbers of young boys from the Carlisle area loitering in the city centre, and I would appeal to parents to know where their children are on match days." Contradicts the 'Leeds fans go looking for trouble wherever we go' argument. We have a reputation, it attracts more idiots than Yeovil would.
Simi Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 I do. Do you? A little to well. Just for the record. Football Factory > Green Street.
lcfc_jme Posted 5 November 2007 Posted 5 November 2007 A little to well.Just for the record. Football Factory > Green Street. Fact. And quoting Football Factory walking around Coalville at 3AM slightly drunk > the actual film itself.
