Daggers Posted 30 July 2007 Author Posted 30 July 2007 I don't fully understand the golden share issue? Isn't it when a woman urinates on a man in a bath? Really, I don't understand what would be in the remotest bit arousing about that. Or that one where people strangle themselves. Or the whole defecation bit on a queening stool. Yuch.

Being owned by Bates feels like you're always being pissed on before you get royally f'cked.
Raj Posted 31 July 2007 Posted 31 July 2007 Forgot to mention(probably cos it aint that interesting!) but me and Mrs (YES I AM MARRIED!!!) went Berlin and on way back last Thursday week night (19th) were unfortunate enough in sharing the confounds of Berlin Schonfeld Airport with about 100(ish) Leeds fans...(i know they were Leeds fans cos they were wearing Leeds tops!!!). We had to spend an hour or so with them in the Dept Lounge AND then had to be on the same plane as them!(TO East Mids) I was wondering what the Fcuk was going on and what they were doing there, and had my suspicions about a friendly in Berlin,BUT had NO inclination to talk to the fcuckers! However i must admit, although some looked brutish, skinhead tattooed lager louts, they were decently behaved and caused no problem. However i was shitting myself upon checkin and baggage recalim cos of the big LCFC in black marker pen on my suitcase, which may have caught attention(luckily it Didn't!) Having safely reached home,i checked the internet the next day and they did indeed have afriendly in Berlin...THE BASTARDS LOST 2-0 http://www.leedsunited.com/page/NewsroomDe...1074969,00.html
act smiley Posted 31 July 2007 Posted 31 July 2007 To a side who, if my memory serves me correctly are in the Regionalliga Nord? Well I suppose that's not so embarassing, team at the third tier of German football vs. team at the third tier of English football. I was hoping for some epic loss to a pub team when you were that chuffed.
Raj Posted 31 July 2007 Posted 31 July 2007 Yes but its the thought of them all travelling that way to Germany an mass, and still losing. Well i thought it was funny anyway
MC Prussian Posted 31 July 2007 Posted 31 July 2007 Looks like they're already amassing miles for their next trip to Europe. *Schadenfreude off*
mancunianfox Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 Do Leeds have a deadline to get the golden share before they can play this season? They still haven't got it
Brainy Posted 5 August 2007 Posted 5 August 2007 It's not all doom and gloom - they've been given a by in the Johnstones Paint Trophy.
lildave3 Posted 5 August 2007 Posted 5 August 2007 Watching Viduka and Smith make their debut today for Newcastle will annoy them even more. I hope.
Steven Posted 5 August 2007 Posted 5 August 2007 Watching Viduka and Smith make their debut today for Newcastle will annoy them even more.I hope. They weren't to crash hot when we beat them 4-0.
Raj Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 IT GETS WORSE---FRIENDLY RESULT---: FT Guiseley 2-0 Leeds
Brainy Posted 7 August 2007 Posted 7 August 2007 Today they've signed Curtis Weston, Leon Constantine, Angreken (that goalie from last year) and Matt Heath.
act smiley Posted 7 August 2007 Posted 7 August 2007 Damn, Ankergren was rather good. They're actually looking like they'll avoid going down again now, damnit

Ultra Posted 19 August 2007 Posted 19 August 2007 Apparently the Leeds programme gives the league table without the 15 point deduction. Do they know something we don't? Given they have an appeal pending before Bates' mates at the FA, I fear the answer may be yes...

Given they have an appeal pending before Bates' mates at the FA, I fear the answer may be yes... Having watched The Championship today it seems that they are doing all this crap as a motivational exercise. They are making out that the minus 15 doesnt exist the prats. Lets hope they dont get away with but I still have a feeling they`ll go up via teh play-offs, even with the deficit.
Webbo Posted 9 September 2007 Posted 9 September 2007 Former Newcastle chairman in talks over Leeds takeover EXCLUSIVE By BOB CASS and DANIEL KING - More by this author » Last updated at 21:26pm on 8th September 2007 Freddy Shepherd Freddy Shepherd, the ousted chairman of Newcastle United, is about to make a sensational swoop to buy Leeds United from Ken Bates. He has already had discussions with Bates, the owner of the ill-fated Yorkshire club, and takeover negotiations are believed to be at an advanced stage. Shepherd and Bates were spotted dining together on Tyneside last week and independent sources have confirmed that Bates could be willing to sell — and that Shepherd is ready to buy. Although Shepherd is still a regular visitor to St James' Park where he has a box, close associates have revealed that he has been missing the excitement of being involved in the game and recognises the potential of reinvigorating one of the biggest clubs in the country. Only three months ago, Shepherd made more than £37.6million by selling his family's 28 per cent stake in Newcastle to billionaire Mike Ashley and he is thought to regard Leeds as the perfect opportunity to make a quick return to football. Despite their relegation to League One and the 15-point penalty imposed for financial rule breaches, Leeds remain an attractive investment because of their pedigree, strong fan base and development potential around Elland Road and the training ground at Thorpe Arch. Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs last month dropped court action over the controversial sale of Leeds back to a company run by Bates after the former Chelsea chairman had put the club into administration with debts of £35m at the end of last season. While tax chiefs may still seek to recoup a sizeable portion of the £8m they are owed, Bates is now effectively in control of a club which is virtually debt-free. The sale process, to Shepherd or any other party, will nonetheless take some time. First, the old football club company, Leeds United Association Football Club Ltd, will be taken from administration into liquidation, either by administrators KPMG or another firm. The money received from Bates for the club will then be used to pay off non-football creditors at a reported rate of about 11p in the pound. Once that hurdle is overcome, the club, now under the banner of Leeds United 2007 Ltd, a company in which Bates and allies Shaun Harvey and Mark Taylor are directors, will be able to re-apply for full FA membership.
filbertway Posted 9 September 2007 Posted 9 September 2007 I have to say, fair play the playing side and gus poyet for not letting this get to them and winning on the field, Wise and Bates did fcuk all obviously and are just ****s
Glen_lcfc Posted 14 September 2007 Posted 14 September 2007 Lees move above Forest on GD after thumping Bristol Rovers http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_2729693,00.html I only posted this because I think its so funny they are now above Forest despite starting on -15 points to them haha !
Raj Posted 14 September 2007 Posted 14 September 2007 I can see the bastards getting promoted this year. they must be well confident and must feel unbeatable. The bastards
lcfc_jme Posted 14 September 2007 Posted 14 September 2007 I can see the bastards getting promoted this year.they must be well confident and must feel unbeatable. The bastards To be fair, 6 games on the spin is some going. They're now already out of the relegation zone. The only comforting fact in all of this is that Forest, I think, are now actually inside the relegation zone of League One?!?
Geo V Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 I can see the bastards getting promoted this year.they must be well confident and must feel unbeatable. The bastards It all depends how they respond to a few injuries and suspensions. They`ll also go on a poorish run and it will hurt them mentally to see that despite all those wins on the bounce that a couple of dodgy results will see them still at the wrong end of the table. Heres hoping
Brainy Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 It must be quite thrilling knowing you have the players capable of beating Hartlepool and Tranmere.
Raj Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 It must be quite thrilling knowing you have the players capable of beating Hartlepool and Tranmere. Hhmmmm....Do you reckon WE could beat them at the moment???
