Ash Posted 2 February 2005 Posted 2 February 2005 The club is delighted to announce that it has reached agreement with Derby County for the transfer of Tom Huddlestone at the end of the season. The England youth international will join us for the start of pre-season training in July. Huddlestone, who only turned 18 in December, has already racked up 80 appearances for the Rams in the Coca-Cola Championship/First Division having burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old last season. Sporting director Frank Arnesen said: "He demonstrates great intelligence on the field and his awareness is so outstanding that he reads the game well. "One of his greatest strengths is his passing, over short and long range. He's already the best in the country in his age group. "All in all he's a very talented player. Off the field he's down to earth and on it he's very mature, he just goes out there and does his job well. "He's already played for England at Under-19 level with Phil Ifil." Nottingham-born Huddlestone was part of the England squad that reached the semi-finals of the European Under-17 Championships in 2003. First Forest & now Derby , don't these clubs want a future ?
Guest Daniel Posted 2 February 2005 Posted 2 February 2005 They havn't got any choice. I have always liked Huddlestone since Championship Manager, he used to be class on that.
stez Posted 2 February 2005 Posted 2 February 2005 they (forest and derby) should be more like us and have old knackers nobody wants!

What did MA do :?: , sign players on their way out. <_<
Babylon Posted 2 February 2005 Posted 2 February 2005 Where the feck are spurs getting all this money from!!!! Did they learn nothing from what has happened to Leeds United. The money must be from loans as they don't have a sugar daddy... I hate them anyway so I hope they go bust!!!
Teeno Posted 2 February 2005 Posted 2 February 2005 First Forest & now Derby , don't these clubs want a future ? 62164 Maybe they don't want to stop the players having a future. As much as it hurts them, they probably don't want to stop the lads from playing for a big top league club.

The money must be from loans as they don't have a sugar daddy... I hate them anyway so I hope they go bust!!! 62172 It is baffling. I think they've gone about it the same way as Man City, who were forced to sell Anelka as they're in the shit. Spurs really need to get in to Europe, and I think Martin Jol is the man to do it. However, taking out huge loans in anticipation of getting in to Europe is such a reckless way of looking for success. Nothing is guaranteed in football, but some chairman obviously don't want to hear that...
natas Posted 3 February 2005 Posted 3 February 2005 I could be wrong, but I thought Spurs raised about 15 million in a new shares issueing thingy.
Babylon Posted 3 February 2005 Posted 3 February 2005 I could be wrong, but I thought Spurs raised about 15 million in a new shares issueing thingy. 62419 Maybe they did but they have spent 3 times that amount!! Defoe, Davis, Brown, Carrick, Dawson, Huddlesone, Reid to name just a few!!!! They have bought so many i have lost count!!!!
Ric Flair Posted 3 February 2005 Posted 3 February 2005 Spurs chairman is one of the richest men in football though, I wouldn't be too worried if I was Spurs.
