davieG Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 Link Derby have handed back more than 700 tickets for Saturday's play-off semi-final at Mary's. The Rams have been unable to sell their full allocation for the biggest game of the season so far and have returned 710 seats in block 42. By contrast Saints have almost sold their full quota of 5,000 for Tuesday's return leg at Pride Park. They go on general sale tomorrow along with the 6,000 remaining seats for Saturday's home game. It means that some Southampton season ticket holders have ended up moving unnecessarily but if they bring their new tickets to the box office, Saints will do their best to switch them back. However it will not be possible to help everyone because of the segregation netting or if their seats have already been sold. Head of Supporter Services David Luker said: "This is disappointing because we have had to move supporters, unnecessarily as it turns out, as Derby claimed their full 15 per cent allocation which they are entitled to and which we were obliged to provide by the Football League rules. "That said, we do now have more tickets available and where possible we will try and move fans back to their original seats in block 42 if they call in person to the ticket office but we will not be able to do this for everyone given the late notice. Tickets for the home leg go on open general sale tomorrow and with Derby not selling out, it means Saints no longer have to sell only to fans on the database and there will now be no restrictions on the number of tickets fans can buy. To make life easier for fans, tickets for the away game will also be on general sale tomorrow. Supporters are urged to call in to the ticket office if at all possible to ensure they get their tickets in their hands. Fans can book online or by calling free on 0800 280 0050 but there is likely to be huge demand for this service.
Floating Fox Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 They've always had a crap away support. Worse than ours. How many we're they allocated?

JoeyB Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 St marys is 32,000 seater so 10% of 32,000 is 3,200 divide that by 2 = 1,600 add together = 4,800 so bout 4,800 odd tickets

SystonFox Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 yet they apparently took 7k to barnsley? we took 4k to barnsley for what turned out to be a nothing game. they only brought 1,000 fans to our place on valentines day 06 and we always take over 3k their. they are shit fans and i think they know they aren't going up.
C-man Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 They have sold over 20,000 Season tickets for next season already, regardless of which league they are in, and by anyone's standards, that's good support. (EDIT: I can't find a link for this, but I'm sure I heard it on Sky Sports when they played Palace ) We've sold a fantastic 500
SystonFox Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 if they stay in this league (which i think they will) are they going to be as succesfull as 06/07? i dont think so. we will see the season after how many of those 20,000 glory supporters renew.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 That's fairly pathetic but I doubt we could sell many more than them.
Joe. Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 That's fairly pathetic but I doubt we could sell many more than them. I'm sure we could for an occassion like that
Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 I'm sure we could for an occassion like that As I said, I doubt we could do many more. Depends on the circumstances I suppose. But look how many went to Preston. Barnsley is a lot easier to get to, there was free travel for lots of people etc etc. We took less than 500 to Wolves this season, we can't really have a go at other teams. But it is Derby. Twats.
SystonFox Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 after losing 1-4 at home to sheff wed in the previous game im not rlly surprised at our poor attendance at wolves. me and my mate said we'd purchase tickets after the game if they put in a good performance, they didnt so we didnt go. but the last laugh was on the 500 or so who did travel and to see us win away and score a last min goal is priceless. i do wish i had gone but my reasons for not going are, in my opinion, valid.
Joe. Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 Yeah I was one of those 500 at Wolves. Atmosphere wise it was so bad it was painful. But to score at the end the way we did was great.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 Ha. I didn't go Sheffield Wednesday but I did go Wolves. Sweet. Swings and roundabouts though. I went to Crystal Palace away, but I didn't go to Leeds or Preston. Never mind, won't have to worry about any of that next season.
Tommeh Posted 11 May 2007 Posted 11 May 2007 Not being funny or because its Derby but its pretty bad support, its the play-off's! With southampton selling out at pride park it really does make Derby look pretty bad, although all play-off games are on sky. we have had some awful away attendances this season particularly 700 at Hull which I was at and we won, 500 at wolves which I went to and we won and 400 at Cardiff which I went to and we lost. It's hard to predict with our fans at times, but in derby's position I'd certainly expect us to sell out

SystonFox Posted 12 May 2007 Posted 12 May 2007 only 400 at cardiff? i went that one and didnt realise we were that bad. i remember not even celbrating our goals cos they were meaningless.
Jay Posted 12 May 2007 Posted 12 May 2007 I don't think we would sell many more than that to be honest for a Sunday kick off, maybe it's a touch of envy towards the sheep for what's probably an 8hr trip on a Sunday morning it's not bad going imo although Southamptons return following is exceptional!! as for Barnsley where the hell did they fit TWICE as many fans in as Leicester took I thought the stand was pretty full up when we took 4000

I would imagine Barnsley offer more tickets along the stand which was to our left, although the whole place looked pretty full when we went there. I doubt they could have given us the 7,000 odd that Sunderland got, because more Barnsley fans wanted to turn up for their staying-up party.

Wils Posted 12 May 2007 Posted 12 May 2007 Im sure we wouldnt have sold them all. Especially with it being on tv.
Craig Posted 12 May 2007 Posted 12 May 2007 YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Simi Posted 12 May 2007 Posted 12 May 2007 I'm sure we would of sold that out. Milan would of put free travel on.
