Thracian Posted 26 June 2005 Posted 26 June 2005 It's not bad actually, for them. Songs like Handbags and Gladrags and Have a nice day are plain dull and boring. 62652 The original by the mighty Rod Stewart is a CLASS tune. Sterophonics version=not so good. 64673 Just been to see Rod at NEC - bloody brilliant for 60. And some of his supporting musicians (female violinist and female saxophonist among others --- yes, yes, yes). Current listening: If I Could Turn Back Time - Cher, No Woman No Cry - Bob Marley, Fur Elisse (Beethoven) and Lovin Arms (Millie Jackson). Few will have heard of Millie but her music is raw with capital letters, her shows get right in your pants and Loving Arms is an unheralded all time great. Give it a play or two if you get the chance.

Deathside Posted 30 June 2005 Posted 30 June 2005 Just got the new Transplants disc - Haunted Cities Not sure about it yet - Only listened to it twice One track I've skipped both times as I particularly disliked it Overall it's definately not as immediate as their first album - Time will tell
