Is that Hertha Berlin?? I thought they was in the top league?
It's their second/reserve team.

Mr Potter the Third is correct - In the German league system, below the Bundesliga & Bundesliga II sits the Regional Leagues (Regionalliga Nord & Regionalliga Sud)

The Regionalligas are classed as amateur / semi-pro leagues

There are no reserves leagues in Germany, the reserve or second teams play in the Regionalligas - In the league table you can spot the reserve teams because they have II at the end of their names

This can have strange effects on the league - For example last season St Pauli reached the semi-final of the DFB - Pokal (German equivilent of the FA Cup) - In the process they dumped Hertha Berlin out of the cup

When it came to the league fixture between Hertha reserves and St Pauli, Hertha took their revenge by fielding the bulk of their first team and soundly beating St Pauli which pretty much put an end to their slender promotion chances

I went to the party in FeldStraBe, was an awesome night

Was that the traditional end of season party or a seperate one? - Were there bands playing?

How long are you in Hamburg for? and what are you doing there?

Deathside do you watch St Paulli regularly? if you do could you tell me how Morike Sako has done? he was at my club torquay last season and became much of a fans favourite not for his football skills but the passion that he displays.

Been here since last September, and leaving at the end of July. Started off doing an internship through Uni for my year in industry, but I got a little bored of that after about 7 months, so have just been learning german since then.

Only been to a handfull of games this season, tickets do seem to go quite quickly. Managed to watch St Pauli - HSV B, on the terraces, was definately one of the best football experiences ive had. Love it how they still dont have the electronic scoreboard so just have the bloke chaging the score manually

St.Pauli, proper quality club. Want to goto one of their games when I'm in Frankfurt

It's about 250 miles from Frankfurt to Hamburg, quite the trip for a football match.

FC St. Pauli will be coming over to Diessenhofen, Switzerland, for their pre-season training camp starting Monday.

Also scheduled is a friendly against my local team, FC Schaffhausen on Tuesday.

Yes, I do have tickets and look forward to this clash of cult clubs. lol

I hope this post will bring Deathside back - as an avid Pauli supporter that he is.

I'd say that they're capable of making a stab at promotion to bundesliga this year.

Re-Vamped stadium is quite something as well.

And I did get to see them like I said I would do :D

Missed out on this. So St. Pauli back in 2. Bundesliga, nice!

I have an old St. Pauli shirt from when Jack Daniels was their shirt sponsor.

there's always the "Nazis Raus!" one!

To be fair, there were only a few "real" St. Pauli fans present, the rest was made of followers from the German border region (Baden-Wurttemberg and Bavaria) and some Swiss who have a knack for the club. Looking at the distance from Hamburg to the Lake Constanze area (slightly more than 800 kilometres), it's no surprise so few Paulianer showed up.
