I'm jealous sure I would love to be paid millions to race cars that has nothing to do with anything I hope he wins it but it would be funny if he blew it we do tend to do that well.

Despite being a devout member of the tifosi...i think he really deserves it and i think he's been treating badly at times at McLaren...he definately deserves to win.

Lewis Hamilton is still in prime position to clinch the world title despite his retirement from the Chinese Grand Prix, says Fernando Alonso.

The Spaniard finished second to Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari in Shanghai to move to within four points of his McLaren team-mate with one race to go.

"It will still be very difficult because it will not be easy to take four points from Lewis," said Alonso.

"I need something dramatic to win. With a normal race it will be impossible."

On form, the Finn will be favourite to win at Interlagos, but realistically he can only hope some form of problem befalls both his rivals.

Alonso said that his difficult relationship with McLaren following a series of rows this season would make it harder for him to win the title than Hamilton.

"For sure it is not easy with the relationship the team has with me," the double world champion said.

"It is not nice when you hear your boss say he feels like a father to the other driver, and he has a really good relationship, and with me [that] I am not talking with him.

"I was surprised about all these things. But the cars will be the same so it is up to me to do a better job."

It will be the first time since 1986 that three drivers have gone into the final race of the season still in contention for the title.

I thought they were sabotaging your car, Fernando?

He's at it again

Fernando Alonso is certain McLaren will give him and team-mate Lewis Hamilton an equal chance to win the world title at the final race in Brazil.

The Spaniard, who trails Hamilton by four points, has been critical of his team this season but is confident the Briton will not be favoured.

"I'm sure there is going to be equality," he said.

"I think in the end the two cars will be the same. They are going to give us both the same opportunities."

Alonso, Hamilton and Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen all have a chance of winning the world title in Brazil, coming after Hamilton's retirement at the Chinese Grand Prix.

After tyre failure ended the Briton's race, McLaren co-owner Ron Dennis defended the decision to delay a tyre change.

"We weren't racing Kimi, we were basically racing Fernando," Dennis explained.

Comments like that have reinforced Alonso's belief that McLaren have not treated him with the respect he deserves as reigning world champion.

But the Spaniard is insistent any bad feeling will have little effect on his or the car's performance.

"One thing is how they feel, what they say about me, but what they do on the track is a different thing, and usually they have had two cars that are exactly same, capable of fighting for victory," he said.

"And that's what I think will happen in Brazil, so everything will be up to me.

"There's no problem there, but we know they are never going to have favourable feelings towards me.

"I hope both cars will be the same, and that we can have a good qualifying and that everything that happened here was just a coincidence and we can fight for pole in Brazil, which would be the only chance to fight for victory."

Meanwhile, McLaren boss Ron Dennis has said that the team will not make any announcement about next year's driver line-up until the end of the season, amid speculation that Alonso will be moving elsewhere.

"We'll address the issue of drivers in respect of 2008 after Brazil," Dennis said.

"We've said that all the way along. We've got binding contracts with both drivers and until any dialogue is opened up after the next race, that's the way it will remain."

`Alonso has told Spanish press that McLaren are sabotaging his car`

Friday 5th October 2007

Fernando Alonso has allegedly briefed Spanish reporters that McLaren are deliberately sabotaging his car.

While it is public knowledge that Alonso feels aggrieved at the team's refusal to install him as their number one driver, the Spaniard hasn't gone so far as to claim that team-mate and World Championship leader Lewis Hamilton has received preferential treatment.

However, in a deeply unpleasant exchange during Friday's press conference, Alonso pointedly refused to denounce the allegation.

Asked specifically whether 'you think you have been treated in a fair way by the team or could maybe the team favour Lewis by making subtle changes to your car, like tyre pressures or wing settings?', Alonso merely replied: "Difficult question... I will not answer."

According to Times correspondent Edward Gorman, present at the press conference, Alonso 'paused for emphasis' and 'gave the clear impression that he believes the team are doctoring his race car to ensure that Hamilton wins the title.'

'No one who heard him could be in any doubt what his intended meaning was and indeed Spanish journalists close to Alonso said he has been saying as much privately for some time.'

Kazuki Nakajima will race for Williams in the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix, the Grove squad confirmed on Tuesday.

Nakajima, the team’s official test and reserve driver, will step into the seat vacated by Alex Wurz, who announced on Monday that he would be retiring from Formula 1 racing with immediate effect.

The 22-year-old Japanese driver has covered more than 4,300 miles of testing in the FW29 as well as earning rookie of the year honours in the GP2 series.

“I am very grateful to the team who have given me this opportunity,†he said.

“I hope I now know the car very well and thankfully have done some Friday driving as recently as Shanghai.

“This is a chance I intend to grab with both hands and repay the faith the team are showing in me with a strong performance.â€

Team boss Frank Williams explained that the purpose of running Nakajima was to allow him to gain F1 experience rather than to evaluate him for a 2008 race seat.

“You cannot assess a driver’s capability on the basis of one race but this is an ideal opportunity to develop Kazuki’s experience,†he said.

“I am confident he will approach the race in a very workmanlike and focused way.â€

Another rainy weekend?

Kazuki Nakajima, Williams

2006 Qualifying - NA, 2006 Race - NA

“I’m obviously feeling really excited about my first Formula One race. I’ve never driven at Interlagos before, so I’ve been doing lots of preparation work in the team’s simulator at Grove. I’ve also ramped up my training in the gym to help me cope with the pressures on my neck because it’s an anti-clockwise track. It looks like it’s going to rain over the weekend, so the weather is going to make the whole process quite tricky. I’m trying not to put any pressure on myself though. I’m going to take it at my own pace, work through each session step by and step and, above all, just enjoy it.â€

BBC says it'll be a dry weekend.
