David O'Leary Posted 30 June 2007 Posted 30 June 2007 went to renew my season ticket today at the ticket office and the man that showed us to our seats was talking about leicester and we are in major talks with steve clemence of birmingham but he didn't say a price he also said that martin o'neil put us into administration by putting players like elliott, savage, izzet etc. on 35,000 a week contracts. considering filbert street only held 15,000 the tickets were not paying the wages of these players never mind the rest of the squad and all of the staff who worked here, he also said martin oneil wasn't such an amazing manager it was the 2 coaches (can't remember their names) i am only quoting someone else please do not bite my head off about martin o'neil.
Stevosevic Posted 30 June 2007 Posted 30 June 2007 Didnt Taylor make Lennon the highest paid player in the club's history by paying him 35K a week? If so its bollocks.

Stevosevic Posted 30 June 2007 Posted 30 June 2007 How the f**k would the bloke in the ticket office know we were in 'major talks' with Clemence? He probably saw it in the paper and knows us as much as us.

You're right and wrong, Re Clemence err that is nothing but a rumour - Right Re Wages - O'Neil putting them players on £35K - almost surely wrong, yes he put them on high wages but it was Taylor/Elsom that raised Elliott's, Savage's and everyone else wages after Lennon up and left. The reason we went into Administration was because we got relegated, hardly O'Neal's fault.

I appreciate you are only quoting someone else. The bloke that showed you to your seats is what they used to call, in those black and white movies, a complete and utter twat of the first and highest order.

Milky Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 This twat should be sacked. We don't want complete tools like him representing the club.

Scow Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 There was even word of Lennon earning more than Beckham at one stage. (Well, basic salary wise)
Pete_foxes Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Didnt Taylor make Lennon the highest paid player in the club's history by paying him 35K a week?If so its bollocks. I was led to believe that Taylor did that. I don't think O'neil had anything to do with us going into administration.
