Team for Charlton?

Recommended Posts

Posted

Walker

Maybury - Dublin - Dabizas - Stewart

Gillespie - Gudjonsson - Williams - Tiatto

Connolly - de Vries

Subs: Hirschfeld, Stearman, Hughes, Wright, Nalis

-----------------------------------------------

So it's just Maybury in for Makin, and Williams in for Hughes...

Williams in for Hughes? Why?

Because Williams was playing well before he got injured. Hughes played well against Ipswich, but I felt that Joey and Williams were beginning to form an effective midfield partnership.

A little unorthodox I know, but I think thats our most attacking line up, and we need to attack against Charlton, we must start scoring!

Gung Ho wouldn't work against a Premiership team like Charlton !

And we aren't actually scoring loads in the Championship are we ?!

We need to play a ball-winner, and neither Hughes or Williams is that.

Good team but i am also concerned about not having a ball winner in there! Too attacking!

No Williams davie? Not even on the bench?

I would like to see if Williams and Hughes can play together, if they can our midfield will be sorted. People keep waffling on about us not having a ball winner if Gaz and Shug play together but we've not had an effective one all season anyway! Gudjonsson has been woeful, so it makes no odds that we need a ball winner, we haven't got one other than Dawson.

I know it won't be that, but i'd love it if it was.

From what I've heard Hughes has the POTENTIAL to be a ball winner as he does like to get stuck in, so it could work, but you dont know until you try it :D

As I said earlier in the thread, Joey and Williams were starting to form an effective midfield partnership. I know Hughes isn't Nalis, but he isn't a ball winner, and it's vital you have at least one midfielder in the centre who is able to put their foot in, win the ball back, and initiate attacks. Williams and Hughes together just won't perform that function. We need someone with a presence...

Injury Boost For Foxes

Matt HeathLeicester boss Craig Levein hopes to have a near fully fit squad available for Saturday's FA Cup fifth round clash against Charlton Athletic.

Levein has been thwarted on the injury front in recent weeks - with Gareth Williams (hamstring), Alan Maybury (flu) and Matt Heath (illness) all missing last weekend's Championship defeat at the hands of Ipswich.

But the good news is that the trio are now all back in training - leaving just Nathan Blake (hamstring), Lee Morris (knee) and Jason Wilcox (cruciate) on the sidelines.

Levein said: "Gareth, Alan and Matt all missed out last week for various reasons, but all are available this weekend.

"We don't have that many injury worries right now and in the next three weeks we should see Nathan and Lee back in action. Jason won't be far off either so we could have a fully fit squad by then."

City travel to the Valley looking to capture a place in the quarter finals of the competition - backed by 4,000 travelling supporters.

I would definetly go with experience at the back for this one, Heath would get bullied very easily by the likes of Bartlett/Jeffers/Johansson/Euell (should he play), Definetly need a ball winner in the midfield to compete against Matt Holland, Joey i'd keep in, I agree with scowys line up.
