Kilworthfox Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 Half listening to talksport on my way home from work this evening i heard 8 names who were being touted as the greatest to play in the Premiership since its start in the 1992-3 season. They were: Eric Cantona David Beckham Ian Wright Alan Shearer Matt Le Tissier Gianfranco Zola Steven Gerrard There was no mention of other top players! I was shocked to hear no Roy Keane best IMHO, Patrick Viera, Bergkamp, Overmars, Henry, Van Nistelrooy, Kanchelskis, Ginola, Klinsmann, Tony Adams, Peter Schmeichel, Edwin Van Der Saar, to name a few! Anyway this has got me thinking about who my all time premiership first x11 would be inc subs Schmeichel G Neville ,Gullit , Adams , ColeBeckham , Keane © , Gerrard , Ronaldo Shearer, Cantona Subs Cech Terry Kanchelskis Ginola Owen

He may have been a gooner, but he was ****ing good.
Kilworthfox Posted 17 August 2007 Author Posted 17 August 2007 Bergkamp has to be in the team. He may have been a gooner, but he was ****ing good. Yes he was that is why he was in my list BUT! He was no Cantona as he did not win as much and was no where near the leader Cantona was! Also he did not produce to the consistency that King Eric did
Geo V Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 I`d have John Terry in my side now. He must have qualified after being a premier League winner twice and England Captain! The fact that Cleski look average without him is also a guide to his importance. I`d have Cantona in and Keano but i cant think of the rest. I`ll work on it for now....

Spee-d Posted 18 August 2007 Posted 18 August 2007 Roy Keane on his day would have wiped the floor with Steven Gerrard. Im not sure how Ronaldo can be put ahead of Giggs already to be honest. And Rob Jones had the potential to be Englands best right back ever. Shame he got injured.
