I played in one game with him, about 5 years ago and his position was........

Goalkeeper.

Rooney trained as a goalkeeper.... we could be onto something here.

 Remember him scoring that free-kick from about the halfway line? Think he started in goal that game and came out on pitch for a bit after a while.

Well done Billy.

Billy Kee - " I saw Rab in the showers, He's MASSIVE" :worship:

I do believe that was at Quorn in Pre-Season. Also JME (remember him...) asked hom about Elvis, and he said he doesn't have a clue.

Sounds like a good prospect, im surprised he hasn't been mentioned already by Thracian...

I only watched him for the first time yesterday and then only caught the second half. He looks well able to take care of himself and seems to have a single minded instinct for goal.

Derby were putting in some tasty tackles but Kee and McKay ran them ragged. Kee might even have had more had he and McKay not been subbed midway through the half.

How do you know that?

On behalf of Tevez...

Tevez and i was invited to a friend's party, likewise was Billy. When we saw him, we spoke to him to congratulate him on his hat-trick against Sheff Wed. We asked about the players he knows, and he told us that Stearman calls Billy, Rooney.

Proper footballer, that. Ugly as fcuk. You can tell he's from 'Sorrel, just by looking at him. None of that Louis Dodds style, fashionable androgyny!

Goes to my school, I wouldn't say that to him! Good luck Billy, hope he does well.

What sort of striker is he? Because, like people have said, when I played with/against him he was a CB who was just like a wall but he wasn't huge height wise. He used to shoot from the kick off and any free kick inside the opposition half. I just can't imagine what sort of striker he is. Shoulder of last defender? Dropping deep creating things?

I'm making no judgement based on seeing him for 20 minutes. He looked forever involved, well able to assert himself and very focused on every opportunity to have a crack at goal but let's see when he comes up against others who are strong and others who have a bit about them.

Derby might have been doing an advert for Wilko's cos defensively they were more like a cullinder than anything to do with football.

Even the second half City might have had at least three more goals and that despite being without Kee and McKay for the last 15 minutes or so.

Let's see how he copes against some quality defenders, when specific contingency plans are taken against him, and when he's had a few more outings including some, perhaps, in the reserves.

Not if it means I have to marry someone who looks like Wayne Rooney :(

Looks aren't everything - at least so my wife said! :D

Which reminds me of a sticker I saw on a car today which is doubtless old hat but which I hadn'st seen...

"Husband Missing. Cat Missing....

Reward for cat"
