Scow Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 There were some sections of the crowd last night who resulted to booing Stewart after a number of misplaced passes/crosses. The last thing a player needs when he's having a stinker is to have the crowd on his back slating/booing. We really do have some wankers who supposedly 'support' this club.
Guest Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 They were fighting over him a few rows behind us! Yes, he was piss-poor last night, but what does booing do? You're letting the managr know what you think, you're also letting Stewart know what you think, something I'm sure you'll be proud of. I'm sure the increased pressure will do him the world of good. Would you do your job well if your customers for example were slagging you off?
Ash Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 Stewart does annoy me , but i wouldn't boo a him or any player at our club ! Also some parts of our crowd shouting " You fat bastard" at Gerry !
BartonFox Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 Never a fan of booing a player but I won't criticise a fan who does, they pay their money and they are entitled. Jordan Stewart IS the most arrogant player on our books, his performances under CL have improved granted. However, people have long memories and remember his form under MA and his antics in refusing anew contract not so long ago. Recently he seems to have slipped into his comfort zone seemingly safe in the knowledge we have no viable alternative at the minute. He needed a kick up the arse and hopefully he will get the message. edited twice because I can't type or construct a sentence properly.
Muz Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 Some lads behind me was giving Gerry alot of stick. They also booed Jordan. Why do they bother coming to games if all thy are going to do is diss our players? Mindless Boneheads
foxesfan69 Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 These t*****s are going to ruin any confidence the players have if they are just going to get booed when they are playing poorley! Kick them out of the ground if it is too much

People pay there money and are entitled to show there views. Look what happened when we stopped booing Ade... Fook all.
SamuearlJackson Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 Everyone has the right to speak freely of course, but as supporters (if that is what the people booing Stewart are) you should not be booing players during a game. It is not going to help. The performance gets worse and Leicester end up playing even poorer. Was anyone on here involved in the booing? I'd like to know the reasoning behind it. Do you think it will motivate Stewart to better performances in the future? Do you just like moaning? SamJ
MON Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 I swear I made a post in this topic. Who deleted it?!?!?!?!?!
Solihullfox Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 Jordan Stewart is not the most gifted footballer Leicester have had on the books otherwise he wouldn't still be playing for us but like nearly every individual he will respond more with positive support. My experience is that a better performance response in any walk of life is gained when a person is encouraged to achieve rather than publicly denegrated. For those that want the Leicester team to play with confidence stop your booing and realise that so far, the motivational skills of Craig Levein have brought vastly improved displays by Jordan Stewart.
Nationwider Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 They were fighting over him a few rows behind us! 70305 Did anyone see this. And was it a proper bloke fight, or a "I saw him first" gay-disco bitch fight!??
Bedford Fox Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 I make my opinion perfectly clear on this subject We are here to support players and mansgers not to knock their Confidence!
stez Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 i've been known to moan about players slacking on message boards, is that allowed? anyway i hope the people on here who are whittering on about not knocking individuals never point out to anyone ever when they're doing something wrong or seem to not be pulling their weight
Bedford Fox Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 no i also moan about players/managers BUT i dont boo and i do get behind everyone who pulls on a blue shirt!
davieG Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 As JS has 100% appearance record, is selected to take free kicks and corners as I'm sure they don't agree this amongst thmeselves, if you're booing him are you not in effect booing CL for picking him in the first place, for asking him to take corners and free kicks? I think the logic is quite clear Let's not also forget that he is often the only player down that left side as Tiatto drifts inside alot.

Sometimes his crossing is suspect but more often than not it leads to something. Its absurd the way that people have been treating him, and I think in general a lot of people have forgotten how to support. Theres a guy who sits in front of me at the games who stays seated every time we score, and has difficulty mustering anything other than negativity...this attitude really winds me up! From my time in teaching it was always the kids you encouraged and supported that produced the best work. Even 'bad' kids performed better with the right type of encouragement. As fans we need to show Jordie that we appreciate him, perhaps chant his name at the next game to let him know that it is only a minority against him. As fans of the same club we should stand together...behind the team...behind the manager. For those 'fickle bonheads' who have forgotten:- Support Synonyms: support, uphold, back, advocate, champion These verbs mean to give aid or encouragement to a person or cause. Support is the most general: “the policy of Cromwell, who supported the growing power of France against the declining power of Spain†(William E.H. Lecky). To uphold is to maintain or affirm in the face of a challenge or strong opposition: “The Declaration of Right upheld the principle of hereditary monarchy†(Edmund Burke). Back suggests material or moral support intended to contribute to or assure success: The important medical research was backed by the federal government. Advocate implies verbal support. To champion is to fight for one that is under attack or is unable to act in its own behalf I think the last is the most important. We must champion Jordies cause if we are to be truely supporters.
Steven Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 It would not surprise me if Stewart does not put in a transfer request next Summer. <_<
BartonFox Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 There seems to be a lot of holier-than-thou 'supporters' on various websites today quoting what 'support' means etc... While I agree that booing is more than likely counter productive sometimes it just happens. As I said earlier Stewart has slipped into his little comfort zone and the obvious talent he has is being hidden by his sheer arrogance and bone-idleness (is that a word??? ) TBH I reckon mosts peoples booing is born out of frustration at Stewart's reluctance to demonstrate his undoubted ability. I tell you he reminds me of, Emile Heskey, he is a bottle merchant the same as Jordan. If people sing his praises he is likely to just continue playing within himslef. There should be no personal; abuse or outright booing, but players need to hear their paymasters frustrations.
BartonFox Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 It would not surprise me if Stewart does not put in a transfer request next Summer. <_< 70432 I reckon he'll be shipped out in the summer as I doubt he will ever realise his true potential. To me that is cheating, cheating his manager, coaches, team mates and us.

Cobbo Posted 23 February 2005 Posted 23 February 2005 Well apparently CL was less than impressed with the booing of Stewart according to a source on another forum. People can argue that they have the right to boo a player if they wish as they have paid their money.....but at the end of the day, you surely just want Leicester to do well? What is shattering a players confidence all together going to do for the team? It's going to #### it up and give us less chance of winning. Please think about it before you start hurling dogs abuse at players you should be #### supporting.
step Posted 24 February 2005 Posted 24 February 2005 Someone should start a "support our Squad" campaign or a "Stop booing steward" campaign. with leaflet, etc
