morris1234 Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 Beating Preston. They've looked very impressive. yeah i know, and theyve not even got a good squad, its barely average with exception to maybe mifsud! we should be winning more games but i dont know why, yes we can improve but weve still got a good enough team!
Mort Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 Just like to say i was never against having Dowie as manager, he 's a decent at the championship level IMHO always thought so.
Brainy Posted 1 September 2007 Author Posted 1 September 2007 yeah i know, and theyve not even got a good squad, Thats what I thought, but they have got a few now. Gray, Adebola, Mifsud, Ward and a few more. Pretty much like Derby, a decent Championship team but if they get to the Premiership, well...

Brainy Posted 1 September 2007 Author Posted 1 September 2007 Well they are good players, with the exception of Best perhaps. Absolutely brilliant pitch too.
Stevosevic Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 Just listened to the match on radio today. Sounds like we played pretty poor apart from Fulop and the defence and struggled to create chances. I still think if we had MA as manager still for this match we would have won the game, and am still slightly annoyed he has gone but have moved on a bit with the thought of having Jewell in for the QPR game i hope. It was a key match today but we have got a point, and if we continue to draw away matches and win most of our home matches we will get promoted or reach the play offs. i did expect us to have more points from the first few games though, a draw at Plymouth, win against Blackpool and Watford and a loss to palace so 7 points. But we have 5 points, we have some great players, 2 points off the play offs in mid table and great hopes and prospects for the season ahead even with Allen gone. Last season at this stage we had 4 points, shit manager, mostly shit players, played awful in the first 2 games of season v luton n burnley and no Milan. It's been a good start to the season in my view Jewell would be great, and all this Milan out talk is utter crap although i am on Allens side but i certainly dont want Milan gone. Without him we will be no where. I will be proved right that we should have appointed Dowie rather than give Rob Kelly a run under Mandaric. PS - don't know why that quote is there, must have accidentally clicked, ignore it.
dandannieldanok Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 I'm still struggling to find a reason as to why we didn't sign Julian Gray up.
Matt Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 I was against Dowie coming but fair play to the bloke, he's done a good job. Bear in mind they have to keep it up though, and I think if they can carry on playing the way they are under Dowie they'll be up there but they have to settle for play-offs, maybe just outside the play-off spots! Martin Allen was doing a good job here though, something had to fuk up though ah?!
Milky Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 Cov have had a relatively easy start to the season with games against Barnsley, Preston and Hull, plus they robbed the points off Cardiff. Don't worry, whenthey start playing the better sides they'll start to drop.
lookwhaticando Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 I will be proved right that we should have appointed Dowie rather than give Rob Kelly a run under Mandaric. No you won't.
Bryn Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 I think they will go off the boil, but his signings have been decent and they're playing good football. I'm trying to remember whether I was against his potential appointment... if I was, I apologise, I think he would have done a good job. If I wasn't, I can't think why all of you were against him. Master Fox Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 Beating Preston. They've looked very impressive. Well that’s just bloody marvellous....
Tevez Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 Let's see if they are still impressive by Christmas.
Lord Nibblington Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 Beating Preston. They've looked very impressive. Most people haven't found that too difficult this season!
Durnerz Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 Its a marathon, not a sprint. Cardiff last season anyone?
Geo V Posted 2 September 2007 Posted 2 September 2007 This is Dowies level and he knows the players that are needed to succeed and has managed to add a few good Bosmans along the way. I still don't think they are that good but have a few good individuals there but nothing special. Looking at there squad http://www.skysports.com/football/player/0...0_31159,00.html I dont think they are all that and are at this stage over-achieving. arguably because of Dowie.
