Koke Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Hasn't Keegan said on numerous occasions that he's not interested in becoming a football manager ever again? Why the change now? I don't believe this. I would liked to be proved wrong though. Exactly. I was thinking that too. So I doubt he'll be appointed, unless he had a change of heart over night when he heard the six figure sum. I doubt he'll come.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Megson would be a kick in the bollocks now.
meadwell5 Posted 12 September 2007 Author Posted 12 September 2007 Firstly, I was joking - as signified by the whistling smiley because I knew it would annoy you.Secondly, I haven't seen this from anyone credible on any forum yet although it has featured on all 3 LCFC messageboards so until someone like outfoxed or onehundredpercentfox on Fox Fanzine, Bob Hazell, newtonfox, RN Fox or Bocadillo on Talking Balls or dannyboy11 on here posts something along these lines then I will still take it with a pinch of salt. Lets just say i Heard it through the grapevine. Same source that told me of the la manga story two days before the papers and you heard. Only time will tell But watch this space mead
Koke Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Megson would be a kick in the bollocks now. Roeder would be worse. Never have I seen a more uninspired boring character than this gimp.
Ric Flair Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Lets just say i Heard it through the grapevine.Same source that told me of the la manga story two days before the papers and you heard. Only time will tell But watch this space mead 2 days before the papers? Is your source, Uri Gellar?
He's not bald Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Exactly. I was thinking that too. So I doubt he'll be appointed, unless he had a change of heart over night when he heard the six figure sum. I doubt he'll come. Keegan has made it quite clear on numerous occasions that he won't be a football manager again because of the pressure,so he'll come here then?...no pressure
Blue Bob Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 So people with 1000 or more posts only get info, give us all a break.i could of only just become a member and heard, or been on this forum since day one and not got the info. what is ur problem? do i have to prove something by toting up my posts and getting to some bench mark before opening my ears. some people have posted with 10,000's post's and Murphey still did not come. When you have been on here for any length of time you will realise that most of the bullsh*t rumours tend to be posted by so called newbies often with under 100 posts. I think they are trying to come on and impress. The amount of crap you here regarding transfers ect usually starts I have a mate would works in the ticket office / best friends with the groundsman/ knows a director, those sort of things - so we all get excited and nothing comes of this rumour. There are a few members on here who do come up with genuine info but they are often the long standing members with 5000+ posts (though they can be wrong too!!). I regret that your rumour is taken with a pinch of salt due to past experience of newbies. Dont take it too heart we have just heard it all before.

Ric Flair Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Keegan has made it quite clear on numerous occasions that he won't be a football manager again because of the pressure,so he'll come here then?...no pressure Having said that, i've just read that he was on the verge of taking a managerial job in Israel a few months back until the media caught wind of it.
Staf Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 But didnt radio leicester say he was having talks or did someone make that up?

Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Having said that, i've just read that he was on the verge of taking a managerial job in Israel a few months back until the media caught wind of it. Was he under the impression that they'd never find out?
Koke Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Having said that, i've just read that he was on the verge of taking a managerial job in Israel a few months back until the media caught wind of it. Pressure in Israel is peanuts compared to this country's hysterical media. So I can understand why.
Stevosevic Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 My name changed weeks ago, get with it Yes, Dannyboy is now a car.
Blue Bob Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Hasn't Keegan said on numerous occasions that he's not interested in becoming a football manager ever again? Why the change now? I don't believe this. I would liked to be proved wrong though. As Jimmy Greaves said "funny old game". Last I heard Keegan had a football academy in Scotland. My guess is that it does not have the buzz of match day and I am sure he misses that. MM said that he was interviewing 4 candidates, Keegan is only one of them (maybe) there is no saying MM will like him or give him the job.
Thracian Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Megson would be a kick in the bollocks now. I wish people would stop even mentioning his name. As our manager he'd go down like a dose of Kaolin and Morphine. He might just fix the problem but the taste would be shit.
Ric Flair Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 But didnt radio leicester say he was having talks or did someone make that up? Leicester Sound have been reporting that the club are refusing to comment on speculation that Kevin Keegan is to be interviewed for the Leicester job today.

If that fails he will move on to his 2nd choice, 3rd choice etc...
Zingari Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 http://www.urban75.org/football/keegan.html he's always good for a laugh anyway The wit and wisdom of KEVIN KEEGAN Football's had some great philosophers, but has there been any more insightful and profound than England's very own Kevin? "They're the second best team in the world, and there's no higher praise than that," - Kevin Keegan when asked to comment on Argentina's qualities last week. "England have the best fans in the world and Scotland's fans are second-to-none." "It's like a toaster, the ref's shirt pocket - every time there's a tackle, up pops a yellow card." "I don't think there's anyone bigger or smaller than Maradona." "England can end the millennium as it started - as the greatest football nation in the world." "You can't do better than go away from home and get a draw." "He's using his strength and that is his strength, his strength." "Gary always weighed up his options, especially when he had no choice." "The tide is very much in our court now." "Chile have three options - they could win or they could lose." "I came to Nantes two-years-ago and it's much the same today, except that it's totally different." "I know what is around the corner - I just don't know where the corner is. But the onus is on us to perform and we must control the bandwagon." "In some ways, cramp is worse than having a broken leg." "The 33 or 34-year-olds will be 36 or 37 by the time the next World Cup comes around, if they're not careful." "It's understandable that people are keeping one eye on the pot and another up the chimney." "I'd love to be a mole on the wall in the Liverpool dressing room at half-time." "One of his strengths is not heading." "He can't speak Turkey, but you can tell he's delighted." "That would have been a goal if it wasn't saved." "...using his strength. And that is his strength, his strength." "I'm not disappointed - just disappointed." "Batistuta's very good at pulling off defenders." "He scores most of his goals when he's got the ball." And from a TV interview, Sept 2002: Hall: "Do you think Wright-Phillips [sent off for tripping Gary Naysmith] did it deliberately?" Keegan: "No way, there's no way. I tell you what, that lad is an absolute gem, no-one here has a bad word to say about him. If I could adopt just one lad from here, I tell you, it would be him." Hall: "There's a rumour around the ground that the red card was actually for foul and abusive language..." Keegan: "No way - I tell you, anyone who knows him, knows that wouldn't be the case. He doesn't even swear. He's got a big heart, Shaun, it's as big as, err, as big as him, which isn't very big, but it's bigger."
He's not bald Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Having said that, i've just read that he was on the verge of taking a managerial job in Israel a few months back until the media caught wind of it. Yes exactly,he probably realised then that he would be stressed again, but another thing about this ludicrous thread is the fact that someone in the ticket office saw him in at the Walker's,it's blatantly obvious to me that MM would never hold initial talks with any prospective manager there, surely it would be at a secret venue!

Koke Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Leicester Sound have been reporting that the club are refusing to comment on speculation that Kevin Keegan is to be interviewed for the Leicester job today. Must be an element of truth in what meadwell was saying.

It's originated from Leicester Sound. Where they've got it from, I don't know. It's certainly not been in any of the papers.

demon_dog Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeegaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. Just what we need, come Milan don't p*ss about, tie him to a chair, get the cheque book out, wave the contract under his nose and don't let him go until you get his autograph. Just think you are looking at a full Walkers stadium if he signs.
